• £1750 Budget Gaming Build Help!
    16 replies, posted
I'm looking for a high-end build for a PC that can be used for Gaming and video editing + Animation. The budget is £1500 + or - £250 and needs to come with a monitor(s) and two Hard-Drives (One being an SSD to install my OS and a some other things.) Also, I already have a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. Any help would be great as I'm not the best with PC builds.

Also, what website is this from?
Ebuyer.com, just wondering why a different case? There's a black version if the white is too much for you.
You are never going to use all 16 gigs of ram I would go with 8 gigs. 2 670's seems to be over kill. If you are spending so much money on a computer you should get a stronger PSU. Also I would recommend using Newegg

I do agree that a 650W PSU for that setup is cutting it close, but should be fine 4. He's in Europe, notice the currencies
RAM is so cheap at the moment you might as well get 16GB
RAM is so cheap at the moment you might as well get 16GB
Why not get 64GB?

And at most a single OC'd 670 would draw 170-180W. 180 x 2 + 175 = 535W max power draw for the whole rig.
You guys are awesome, love how helpful this subsection is.
Guys, I've come up with this, is it any good? http://www.ebuyer.com/lists/list/5559
The RAM heatsinks on the Vengeance will interfere with the Noctua NH-D14 when you're installing it, so to get around that make sure to get the Low Profile version http://www.ebuyer.com/274037-corsair-16gb-ddr3-1600-mhz-vengeance-memory-cml16gx3m4a1600c9. The PSU is pretty overkill, the 850w will suit you just fine and save you some money http://www.ebuyer.com/164951-corsair-850w-hx-modular-psu-cmpsu-850hxuk. Nothing to say on case choice as it comes down to personal preference. Other than that, all I have to say is the Logitech gaming headset is pretty heavy after a while and you can get much better sound and microphone quality by buying a microphone and headphones separately. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002OO18NS/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&psc=1 and http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-RP-HTF600E-S-High-HiFi-Headphone/dp/B002R5ABPU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342635865&sr=8-1 is a better combination, and the Blue Snowball is a great quality mic for its price. [editline]18th July 2012[/editline]
Why not get 64GB?
That would literally not even be possible with his motherboard.

He's already dropped down to one card in his list
Oh and maybe change the MOBO for an asrock it seems to be slightly faster, but use more power. (dutch site but charts stay the same) http://tweakers.net/reviews/2577/10/zes-ivy-bridge-moederborden-vergeleken-prestaties-kleine-verschillen.html
Motherboards don't generally make enough difference in performance to really be noticeable. The only reason I chose the V PRO is because it has way more features than the extreme4.
