Well that's weird, probably just a "mistake" on Apple's part that will shortly be fixed as the media has brought this up to light.
This is why people advocate for open platforms, the right to own your devices is essential.
of course apple is gonna want its users to use their own proprietary software. in the electronic device world this is nothing new.
spotify crying about apple "reducing competition" is like if sony made a big deal about ps4 disks not working on the xbox one.
Apple charges companies up to 30% of income made to use its iTunes billing service and offers no alternative.
If companies refuse to comply with Apple's requirements, their product may be removed from the App store.
Doesn't look fair and square. Might be a way to massage their investors "Look how much we earned on ITunes".
I find it funny that Apple earns more money on Spotify subscriptions than "Apple Music" subscriptions.

That's a pretty big difference there buddy. It's like saying it's bullshit that I can't stick game cartridges into my WiiU, it's literally incompatible. This is some software bullshit with no reason aside from apple being cunts.

No, that's wrong.
Console compatability can't be compared to Apple hosting an app store where anyone can make and publish an app, and then restrict an app as soon as it starts to be competition.
It's pretty funny that anyone is trying to justify this imo
So why can't windows ship their own Internet browser or Media player in Europe, but this kind of shit is allowed?
Isn't the first time apple has done things like this to apps in their own store.
So why can't windows ship their own Internet browser or Media player in Europe, but this kind of shit is allowed?
Because it affected the entire userbase of Windows in Europe? This only affects Spotify the company and as Apple owns the store, they kind of have to abide by their rules.

How does it affect anything less? For starters they do the exact same shit by shipping their own software by default.
The fact they have control over competition through the store and store rules, and that they drive unfair competition because they get better deals on the same platform should all set off even more red flags.
"Our platform/store, our rules" is the reason why anti-competitive conduct isn't legal, that's exactly the stuff its supposed to protect against.

Apple has shipped safari with their OS X since forever. Apple has incorporated paying subscriptions on apps where 30% of the revenue goes directly to Apple.
The fact they haven't been targeted at all speaks words on how hard Apple must be paying off anyone who would start a antitrust case against them.

uhm, no
One is 2 different consoles with different builds of one game, which only work with the correct console
The other is a cellphone being biased towards its own apps and pretty much blocking outside competitive apps when it shouldn't, something that does not happen in android devices fyi.

I mean, why is a cell phone where we draw the line? Tons of other things do it. Games on a game console is a bad example, but his point still stands. There's tons of anticompetitive stuff in place in technology- most of the time they use "security" as a scapegoat. But in a cell phone it's not allowed? Why do we arbitrarily draw the line there?
Honestly, Apple should be able to do whatever they want. It's their product and service, after all.

They should also lock their phone service to asians, force people to use only their apps, etc.
Microsoft should lock down their OS and only allow Microsoft products, and OSX should wipe the system if they detect someone using google music. Its their product, so they should be able to do anything!

When things like that happen, consumers rally to alternative products. There's a reason why Android is successful. It's a self-correcting system. If Apple decided no more non-Apple music services, I'd switch to Android. The company should be free to do whatever they want, but economics is the great equalizer.

But Apple knows people who buy iPhones will still keep on buying iPhones, even if the gouge out even more out of each iPhone purchase.

Yes, because people have totally been rallying to non iphones.

Not sure what you're talking about, they keep adding new features and the price is competitive with other high-end phones. I don't see how they're gouging more out of each iPhone purchase.
Yes, because people have totally been rallying to non iphones.
Why would they be jumping ship? Apple isn't doing any of the absurd things you mentioned in your post. But if they were, a lot of people would switch platforms. And even still, right now, a lot of people are buying Android phones because of things they don't like about iPhones.
