• My question to you guys on a depressing day

Hi guys, I feel like this may not be the right place to write this topic but I don't really know where to get better answers than here. First a bit about myself: I am a 19 year old boy from Belgium who studies at the university and is seeing things really big for his future. Well, that's the future and I'll see what brings it but now I'm a little bit depressed because of some things. And here is why... Like every young boy I always wanted to be good at a particular thing. At an age of 12 I tried the guitar but music was nothing for me. I always played games and got always kinda good at them but never on a pro level. I played chess, solved rubik cubes and won at poker but never at the level like the experts. I want to turn around my life and become a professional at something I like to do. I've given some examples here but for all examples there are problems. I feel like it's too late to become really good at rubik and chess so that won't work out. Now I want your opinions on what you think I have the best chance on becoming very good. - Poker ( but is there still money to gain with it?) - Fifa ( I played for the national team of Belgium so it's the thing I am best at but there is no way to make a living out of it.) - Starcraft ( always wanted to be a pro gamer and sc is a good game for it but I wonder how long the game will last and if I ain't too late to start with it.) - An upcoming computergame which will go huge ( give your own predictions on upcoming pc games which will have the same impact like 'league of legends', Dota 2, sc2, ...) - Rubik ( I can solve the rubik's cube in 30 seconds but I guess it's too late to become a real master at it because kids just are better at such sort of things.) - Others (give your own income) This might look like a very egocentric post but I know there are other guys and girls with those dreams so give your own opinion and tell me what you think has the best chance of succeeding. TL;DR Searching for something to become really good at. Help me in choosing one of the 6 things I summed up.
Just continue your studies at university, don't bother putting all your faith and luck into turning a hobby into a career. That's all I can tell you. Good luck with your studies, I am in the same position (19 and in university trying to make something of myself)
Play Counter-Strike Source. It takes time to get good. But when you do get good, you'll get recognised for your skill.
Put your effort into studying for now. There will be a time where you'll be free to peruse your hobbies to a point where maybe they can become your life, but not while you're in school.
tell me what you think has the best chance of succeeding.
The best chance of succeeding is not coming up with some gimmicky hobby to make your way through life. Work hard on your education and find a job you can be proud of. Become exceptional at your job and new opportunities will find you, not the other way around.
Thanks for the answers guys. It's just, I feel like I could have been very good at one of those things but I always jumped from one to the other. When I see youtube videos of people who are a grandmaster at chess, professional gamers and poker players or people who can solve a rubiks cube in 10 seconds I get so jealous and wish I was able to do something like this. I'm also getting older and feel like if I want something like this to happen I have to do it right now but on the other side I know you guys are right. Studying can't be underestimated and maybe I should set some lower goals and keep my hobbies as hobbies. Your answers are much appreciated ! ps: I know about cs:go but same there, the big scene of players like Spawn, Heaton, ... is gone and there is no way I can get as good as for example NiP, those guys play since the release which has been 10 years so it's pretty much impossible.
You sound kind of like me OP, just keep up with your studies, you'll find something that interests you.
