Hey.
Around 6 hours ago I was in shock due to a loss of blood and low blood pressure due to a serious cut to my middle finger. My vision blacked out and my hearing got very staticy, along with me not being able to stand up or process what the flying shit was going on. I am recovering slowly now and at home, dont worry about me and read on.
Enough about me, this got me thinking, what serious injuries have you had, Facepunch? Do share.
one time i was close of chopping myself in the leg with an axe, but only my pants took damage. aside from that then the my worst injury was breaking my toe :v:

You lucky man haha :V
When I was four, I almost chopped off my right index finger. OK, the cut was nowhere close to the bone, but there was a lot of bleeding.
I stepped on a piece of lego.
Oh, dug right into the heel it did
I trialed a bi-monthly antidepressant medication which a couple of days later caused my whole upper body to go into a cripplingly painful muscle spazm, could barely breathe, got rushed to hospital at 11pm. At first they gave me a diazepam tablet but that didn't do anything, then they injected me with this more powerful drug and in 15 minutes or so I was moving around again, but I was still being choked for a couple of days
So fucking scary, never ever want that to happen again. Say no to injected antidepressants :v:
And another time I got a shard of glass tear through my arm, blood pumping everywhere etc.
tried to grind the handrail of a staircase on a skateboard and fell and smacked the back of my head on the edge of a stair, got knocked out cold and had a concussion
I got an axe in the face when i was 4 (it was swinging from my dads belt and i got to close)
LOTS of blood and me crying. It missed my eyeball with like 7mm
I once had a splinter in my pinkie finger.
stopped breathing for 4 minutes or so
My leg got impaled by a rod on my old ATV, which torn a 3-4 inch gash into my calf. It hit the muscle, so i have minor weakness and pain now, but it got horribly infected and i don't think i've ever been in that much pain. The actual accident was nearly painless, as nerves were severed, but the worst pain ever was when i was in a delirious fever in my living room a few days later after stitches.
I went to the hospital a day after the fever started, and he thought i had a deep vein thrombosis, so i had to ride in a car to another hospital for an ultrasound machine, which came up negative.
I then spent 4 days in the hospital, getting a bottle of high strength antibiotics every 12 hours and blood drawn every 6. I also tore a stitch while hobbling to the bathroom the day after getting stitches. I had trouble walking for about a month after this though. Not from the severed nerves, but from the pain caused by the damaged muscle.
If we didn't have health insurance(we damn near didn't, as we had gotten it earlier that year), we'd be paying a $11,000 bill, which covers the ER visit, stitches, doctor's fees, the actual 4 days, and the medication. I also kinda remember the doc saying something about nearly hitting a major artery in my leg, which would've most likely killed me. This was ~4 years ago, so things are fuzzy.
I stepped on a toothpick when I was a kid. Got jammed in there so far. During the procedure to get it out, it hurt like hell.
Twisted ankle when I was 10.
Parents let me try pumping gas into the truck when I was around 7 years old
They just let me hold the pump in place and press down the handle slightly
My sister opened the door on accident and the pump flew and gasoline sprayed into my eyes.
I couldn't see for a good 5-10 minutes but they flushed out my eyes with water once I got to the hospital and I could see just fine after.
Nothing serious tbh, but I have: been hit in the leg with a knife after it ricocheted of a tree and I fell in a pond when I was like 3 and couldn't swim. All I remember was being on the edge and suddenly whatever my hand was on gave and in a second I was in the water, looking up like "huh, cool" like it was no big deal that I was underwater with no way up and laying on a towel in my grandma's house later in soaking pants.
Also there was this one time my wrist got bent so far back I couldn't make a fist for months.
I tried parkour and I sucked so much at rolling that once in a medium fall I (tried to) rolled and basically hit my fucking back.
This wasn't an injury, but one time I was about to walk across a street when the pedestrian light went green and some asshole drove past me so fast I think I was pulled forward a little by the force of the air around the car. If I had been just an inch closer I would have been dead or seriously injured. Yes he was going that fast. Needless to say I drive more often then use pedestrian walks.

The same exact thing happened to a friend and I a few weeks ago during a power outage. All the cars have to treat the lights like a stop sign, pedestrians have the right of way etc. There were three lanes and the middle one was the only one without a car in it, and when we were about 2 steps away from it some bitch going about 50 mph just speeds through. So if I didn't stop to pick up a dollar I found lying on the ground we could have been seriously injured...
that dollar saved my life and I still keep it in my wallet to this day
When I was about 10 I was camping with friends, then I got hit by a rock (some asshole probably thew it), it hit right next to my right eye, I didn't feel any pain because I was in shock, the cut was pretty deep so I was losing alot of blood, and we didn't really have anything to bandage my wound, in the end I ripped my shirt and just pressed it on the wound, I still blacked out and they had to carry me back to the camp, I would've probably died if they weren't there.
Looking back we should've invested in a better medkit
Use to have seizures a lot as a kid, but those were mostly just scary and not serious.
My most recent gory injury was when I was around 13, I sliced the tip of my index finger right down the middle with the edge of a Chef Boyardee can lid.
The interesting thing was the inside of the wound was a bright orange as soon as it got cut, but then it turned to a very, very dark red...
I almost died due to the fever I had with pneumonia when I was 8. Also, the fact that I almost drowned in my lung goo from that. Not fun at all.
I've also had a few times riding my bike or driving in the car where if I had been a few inches in the wrong way I would be dead right now.

Similar to what happened to my little brother when he around 4-5 years old. Shit's scary man.
Yeah, all I remember from that was waking up one morning, unable to breathe and burning alive. Then, I kinda drifted out and woke up a day later.
Having my throat completely plugged up with phlegm.
I got mugged around this time last year.

Had a hernia that would have killed me as a kid without surgery and almost got hit by a couple different vehicles on the roads as a kid also has a nasal hemorrhage due to the mugging and almost bled out in the bathroom and a couple other things I can't remember the specifics of too. I'm not a gambling man, but my life seems to be a hot chip.
Jesus fuck, did you try to fight the muggers or something?

No. Long story short, I was walking around town drunk at night with headphones on and some guys jumped me in the dark of a parking lot. Didn't see or feel anything, just woke up broken on my feet.
A car accidently ran over my foot because i was being a fucking idiot. Thankfully nothing was broken but it did hurt for a couple of days.
Some drunks from a local political party plowed into my car when I was being driven to college one day, and I ended up with both bones in my left arm busted. Had to have two surgeries to get it fixed, one to plate them up and the other to remove the plate. The fellows who plowed into me weren't so fortunate. One of them ended up dead and the other two severely injured.
Then I had to take a header out the window of my school chemistry lab in my 11th grade because some idiot set a large fire by playing with acids. This shredded the palmar aspect of my right wrist badly but missed all my major vessels and nerves, or else I'd have a dud hand and thus be counted as disabled.
My brother slammed my head against the edge of a swimming pool when I was younger. Had an eyebrow split open.
