Okay, so for Christmas I'm getting at least $150 give or take 20-30 dollars more so maybe $180 USD Right now I'm on mostly an entirely stock Computer except my graphics card. So I wanted to ask everyone's opinion on what I should get. Right now I'm thinking a new intel processor (i5 any good?) Maybe a new computer case (can anyone recommend me a good one? preferably cyan/blue lighting with a power source provided) I seriously have no idea what to get but I would like to know what you guys know and maybe get you guys to give me some advice and tips. Any help would be cool
Well if your computer isn't giving you issues why upgrade? [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] What are you current specs anyway?

It's pointless to buy part-by-part because the constant release cycle of hardware will eventually invalidate your older parts. Imagine buying an i5 now, then Intel releases a brand new CPU. Then you move on to the next part like the GPU and nvidia/ATI releases a new magical GPU and when you buy this new magical GPU, your CPU will bottleneck it. It's best to just buy everything at once. What are your current specs? Use [url=http://www.piriform.com/speccy]Speccy[/url].
I believe that some parts can be bought part by part See: Case, PSU

Re-use your HDD, optical drive. And for cases you should get one of theses. I currently own it and I like it a lot. [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] I think you should go for a build centered around a i5 650 and a 4850 or 5750. [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] And cases that come with power supplies are usually very shitty.
or he could spend a little more money and get a nice looking case that has a SHIT TON of room
And then turn on Prime95 and fry his 980x :v:

[QUOTE=ghostofme;25897047]i5 650[/QUOTE] No. Best he keeps his Core 2 Duo for now
[QUOTE=ADT;25911590]No. Best he keeps his Core 2 Duo for now[/QUOTE] I'm talking about when he upgrades the rest. [editline]8th November 2010[/editline] And sorry, I meant the i5 750.
