• Drivers for my motherboard

I feel like formating my pc and freshen things up. Getting drivers for my GPU is very easy, even easier now with Steam supporting ATI Drivers. However when it comes to motherboard drivers (BIOS?) I am completely stumped. There's a million stuff to install and for some reason there is no way to get them all in a nice pack like with GPU drivers. I need all kinds of stuff such as audio drivers. My motherboard is an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It's always a good idea to check the manufacturer's website first http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P6T%20Deluxe%20V2&SLanguage=en-us

But the thing is, I find it rather confusing because I am presented with 61 files. Do I need all of them?
Perhaps you should check Device Manager and see what you are missing
Or well, some are betas and whatnot. But I take it I have to download them all. Wow.. why can't they just make a nice pack with everything? And ignore the categories that are not driver related, such as BIOS, Utilities, and Manuals [editline]14th November 2010[/editline]
Oh, I have yet to reformat.
If you have another computer and a flash drive, you can always download them on the fly [editline]14th November 2010[/editline]
Or well, some are betas and whatnot. I am not very good with computer hardware. More of a software man myself. I really should learn this stuff.. If you have another computer and a flash drive, you can always download them on the fly
Don't I need the BIOS stuff? Isn't that important. I really need to learn this kind of stuff.
If you're installing Vista or 7, I don't really think you need to worry about it.
No, you don't need it. Don't ever update the BIOS unless you absolutely need it (for instance, you bought a new CPU that is unsupported by the current BIOS revision). Update failure will result in a dead board, and is often a pain to fix.

I see. Well, now that I have that covered I have one last question. I have an i7 920 processor. Does it need constant driver updates? I have never seen any driver updates whenever I've been searching, probably because I am shit at searching.
CPUs never needs driver updates, and most hardware rarely needs driver updates as well. Graphics card driver is the only one to be concerned about.
I'm fairly certain that no CPU's need drivers.
Ah alright then. Thanks for the help people.
