The last I actually remember in terms of sales with Microsoft was when they were selling skin packs on the 360 which at the time seemed a bit silly in itself. I find it ridiculous that some of the items listed could be purchased.
On another note the creators will be getting more than 50% of the Revenue apparently and there happy about that. I think I'd be happy too if made a map and got money :v:

Even though it's using a secondary currency now, the prices are almost the same that the official ones, which have been on the marketplace for quite some time.
That, or people only have just noticed this is a thing as well.
Of course, this only is a thing in the C++ version of Minecraft.

Creating mods for the Java version literally involves decompiling the Minecraft executable then modifying the source code (unless you use one of the mod frameworks that does that part for you and creates an API for you). I'm doubtful they want to touch that with a ten foot stick.
Isn't this "exclusive" to the Win10 and Pocket/Mobile versions and basically the same thing currently as it is on Console as only textures and skins are available?

It used to be common practice for Minecraft PC to split a mod into multiple parts and have them all behind links that forced you to view ads before you could actually download said mod. For putting people who wanted to use said mod through potential malware and browser hijacks the mod author who used said service got a fraction of a cent. So of course they are going to be happy with a 50% cut.
