Hi guys, some peeps helped me build a PC nearly 3 years ago, and it's probably time for an upgrade.
Here's my current stuff, hasn't changed much since that build:

I was mostly looking to replace the CPU and GPU, as well as buy one or two more 1TB harddrives for storage. Mostly looking for better compile times for programming stuff for real life/university, and better framerates in games like ARMA 3.
Additional Info:

- Budget is a little flexible, doesn't include shipping.
- I live in Canada, if you suggest a CPU/GPU/other part then make sure I can order it
- I prefer nVidia GPU's over ATI, and I don't mind it that it costs a little more.
- Running games like ARMA 3 on high/ultra at 1920x1080 is what I'm expecting for performance.
I think the CPU is alright. Maybe go up to the i5 4690k, which would mean you also need a new motherboard (Probably would anyway as most intel sockets are 1150 now instead of the 1155 your current CPU uses)
Which would set you up to ~$400.
I'm not too versed in nVidia cards though... I'm mostly AMD for that.
But it seems (I'm using Canada Computers site) that the 760 is what you could upgrade to (Prices work between $280 and $350 depending on the distributor and if it has a factory overclock or not).
Your CPU is fine for gaming. I have a haswell i5 which is only 15%(?) faster-ish and i'm yet to go about like, 75% usage in games i play.
As for your GPU... Get a new 900 series nvida card when they come out soonish. I'm p sure the top card for the 900 series is only $500, too.

Getting and installing a new mobo is sort of a pain, so I guess I'll put that off for now.
As long as getting a new GPU isn't going to be bottlenecked by anything else, I guess I'm good with that.

Thanks, will keep that in mind too. I'm not in a huge rush, so a little waiting won't kill me.
The 900 series is already out. I'd suggest the 980 if you want to really spend money, or the 970 if you want to save a bit. Both great cards.
Oh hey, didn't notice. I'll probably sleep on the 970 vs 980, though I'm already sort of leaning towards the 970.
Yeah, honestly it gets fantastic performance.
Get an i5 4690 with a quality H97 motherboard.
And the 970 is fantastic. That would be about 600 dollars of your budget, so you'd be fine to stop there or buy a 128gb SSD.
His processor is fine, just the GPU is going to see a real benefit right now, and what a benefit it would be upping a tier and 2 generations.

I would get an SSD, but I'm far too lazy to reinstall my OS on it for faster booting, and I only really need mass storage.
