too many bad ones at least
"We should always start by asking how do we make the games better"
You can start by making it less of "Gears of Evil: Residents of Duty, The Timed Event Edition" and making it more survival horror again.
These weren't resident evil games, just familiar names and familiar stories.
I think they should make more chronicles games. I loved dark side chronicles
I think they should make more chronicles games. I loved dark side chronicles
They could try more side-story games or something. I mean, not like Operation Raccoon City (yuck), but maybe something more akin to the Gun Survivor games except not ass, or perhaps a twist on the formula. We're probably not going to get much in the way of survival horror anymore if they keep up this route and keep using characters that might as well be survival horror veterans.
They should reboot the series and start back at the beginning. Wipe all the stupid shit that they added in after Resident Evil 4 and act like it never happened.
You know shit's gone wrong when the best game Resident Evil was involved in recently wasn't even its own game (MvC3).
Capcom, I got an idea. Complete remake of RE 1 2 and 3. Do it. (although I think they somehow would fuck it up)
Capcom, I got an idea. Complete remake of RE 1 2 and 3. Do it. (although I think they somehow would fuck it up)
There is already a remake of RE1 which is quite awesome.
I've owned Resi 1 for the PS1 for ages, but I haven't gotten around to playing it. I probably should.

Capcom needs some new people running that company.

[editline]4th February 2013[/editline]
Yes, with harder puzzles and more freakish stories.
Oh shit, the puzzles. They actually were hard. You had to actually look around for the stuff that was pretty much blended in with the scenery (no glows at all unless it was a key, and it was just a small glow) and you had to explore from top to bottom, backtrack a few hundred times and whatever more just to advance through a level. RPD on RE2 was such a maze.

You could literally go though the same area a dozen times but because everything changed and events/boss fights happened at different times. You could run though the same hallway and then come back with what you need and the game will throw a curve ball at you. The environment felt familiar but ended up being completely different.
Go make Resident Evil: Outbreak File #3, or port the original 2 to PSN/Xbox Live with multiplayer capabilities.
remake re2 and 3 and combine them into the same game tbh
Go make Resident Evil: Outbreak File #3, or port the original 2 to PSN/Xbox Live with multiplayer capabilities.
Now that would be amazing.
Go make Resident Evil: Outbreak File #3, or port the original 2 to PSN/Xbox Live with multiplayer capabilities.
The systems could certainly handle the original two and their load times better, but the big question on a modern port / remake of them would be 'should the limited audio speaking remain or would a headset be allowed?'

It all added up to quite an experience. The scenery was also pre-rendered and they somehow made it have this grim look to it. I miss the PS1 era. The scenery looks like it came from a video in the early Final Fantasy games. Looks pretty cool.
Not to mention the pre-rendered backgrounds in the REmake makes it probably the best looking game on the Gamecube.
They truly managed to capture "survival horror" In the originals, CVX, Outbreaks, Remakes on GC and 0. Was really ahead of its time graphics wise on PS1. Still a great fucking game no matter how you look at it.
Go make Resident Evil: Outbreak File #3, or port the original 2 to PSN/Xbox Live with multiplayer capabilities.
somebody in an interview recently asked why this hasn't been done already, and they said that the game's netcode was vastly different from what could run on PSN/XBL. They didn't rule it out entirely but they basically said doing so would be a programming nightmare. It's a shame too since Outbreak was so much fun to play. I never did get to multi with friends because by the time I bought the online adapter, Sony shut down the PS2 network a week later. But there's always that sliver of hope. What's a damn shame is ORC. Despite it's many flaws I was probably one of the few people who still enjoyed that game, for what it was anyway. Multiplayer is buggy as all hell but griefing people with pheromone grenades never gets old. I'll definitely snag Revelations when it's released on marketplace though.

They could probably make it look like that real time.
Port the older ones (including remake and RE 0) to PC/360/PS3 and in HD too bad Capcom won't do this

Nothing beats having one of your teammates hacking and playing as George while spamming the ampule shooter, knocking everyone else off ladders, or causing them to fall to their death.
They could probably make it look like that real time.
I'm surprised they didn't do this with Heavy Rain, considering that not a lot of the game is actually interactive.
