infact there are plenty, thats the only one I can think of off the top of my head.
well to be specific, i found this really neat laptop on newegg, but i searched it up on google and newegg doesn't ship to australia. HOWEVER. i found this and it says i can use a parcel forwarder to do it. I found the same laptop in a local store, but it has worse specs and is $300 more expensive.
[editline]06:41AM[/editline]
abit.com.au doesn't really have a large range...
then its not the same laptop.
well, use a parcel forwarder then, but make sure to shop around Aussie online stores before hand, to see if you can get the same deal.
MSY apparently has good prices, although I'm not sure about that because there is no MSY in my area. If the product you want isn't available in Australia, you could try www.priceusa.com.au. I have never used it but there's threads on Whirlpool about it and from what I have read it seems legitimate.

I saw one at dick smith, but it has a smaller screen, 2gb less ram, 200gb more HDD, but $300 more expensive. Now, if i buy it off newegg, and use a parcel forwarder, i save about 100-150.

mln.com.au is good for cheap notebooks, however you can also use a hardware price search engine - staticice.com.au to find a reasonably cheap equivalent.

nope, i went to mln.com.au, and the closest, specs wise was 1.7k (ASUS M60J-JX020X i7 Quad Core Notebook)

holy shit lol, the Australian equivalent is 2k.
MSY
Although it is in Melbourne.
[editline]07:29PM[/editline]
http://www.msy.com.au/
I know the site is badly done.
[editline]07:29PM[/editline]
And they have very low prices.
[editline]07:29PM[/editline]
Or PC case gear.
[editline]07:30PM[/editline]
Google it.

Get used to it, shit's expensive here.
Most of the stock at retailers was bought when the Australian dollar was buying 0.60 USD a year ago.

MSY is cheap, but GOD DAMN the service is bad. The shop is tiny, You'll usually have to wait in-line for about half an hour at least, the Que is bordered by poles held together with tape, and some of the staff there are assholes.
It's worth paying some extra money for better service at places like CPL
But MSY is cheap.
There's no actual equivalent, we don't have anything near as cheap or convenient as newegg, because we get fucked over on technology. mwave.com.au is a very good site though. MSY.com.au is definetly the cheapest you will find but they don't have a lot of things, the site layout is absolute crap (as in you can barely navigate it) and the people there barely speak english. If you can get around that they have crazy cheap prices.
But MSY is cheap.
nope, still 1.8k.
so what i should do is buy the laptop from newegg, and use PriceUSA to ship to australia? Or is there another parcel forwarder i should use?

Won't the AC adapter have an american plug? I'd fucking hate carrying a plug adapter everywhere.
And check if the warranty on it is international or not.
Those are your two main issues when buying electronics form the US.
hmm, good point. I do have a us/aus powerboard, so no worry at home, but my friend's house i'm not too sure. thanks for reminding me.

its called bending the pins, the electricity is pretty much the same and an adapter doesn't change the voltage or the amperage.

This is an American plug right?

You just bend that into this do you?

:geno:
i looked at the pics on newegg, and i think the laptop uses: [img_thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/z5ylLB.jpg[/img_thumb].
If i used a plug adapter, would it affect computer performance in anyway? Also do you think i could order a AUS charger from HP or something?
Also do you think i could order a AUS charger from HP or something?
You probably can, just do some searching around.
man, so much stuff to do. All right, i think i've got it organized, thanks again, Facepunch

i will bump or make a new thread when i need more help.

the earth is optional. (the bottom pin)
no real equivalent
but www.pccasegear.com is good
Try looking into Shipito. They are a parcel forwarder I used to use when I studied abroad. They are so much cheaper to use.
There is nothing equivalent to newegg.
NOTHING
