"chief gaming scientist"
Imagine introducing yourself with this title to acquaintances
will ship with Windows 10
Between this and "Xbox One" I'm starting to think the people at Microsoft who decide names can't count.
12 will probably be the last version for 7, since they've pretty much started work on it (and Windows 7 is still in mainstream phase). 14 (seeing as how Microsoft skipped 13 for Office) will probably be exclusive to 8.1 onwards.

Its always technically possible, but if they have to backport major kernel changes that happened in windows 8 or windows 10 too windows 7 in order for DX12 to function its probably not going to happen.
"chief gaming scientist"
Over-glorified code monkies.
At GDC, Nvidia also confirmed that it’s DX11 GPUs would support DX12
awww yeah
