I was looking into getting a phenom 965 and a gtx 650 ti boost, i just need a little advice. I have a 500w psu, will it be able to handle it? My motherboard only has pci 2.0, but i read online that you can put a pci 3.0 card into a 2.0 slot, is that true?
Ok get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116491 And this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125458 [editline]26th May 2013[/editline] No really some more info would be nice. What do you want to play, where do you live, what is your budget, what full specs do you currently have, and what is the model of that PSU. Meh the question is. Do you really want to upgrade? The step up from the 6770 to650ti isnt that big. And the step up for the cpu is from ancient to old.. I would advice to wait and save up a bit more and get a new mobo, cpu and GPU. Also if you do get a GPU get the AMD7850 its better than the 650ti and only a lil bit more expensive.
What if i was just to get the processor? I mean im looking for this computer to last me kind of a while, but im sure in the near future i would buy more stuff for it
Getting a Phenom II won't make your machine last longer, it's already an antiquated processor on a dead socket. You'd just be throwing money away.

Or could i keep my graphics card and get a new motherboard and cpu?
Save GPU for now and wait for haswell/wait for price reduction on ivy bridge when haswell is released.
There will be no price reduction on ivy bridge. Even sandy bridge is still the same price. An i5 should be fine.
With OBS & Dxtory you should be fine with i5. Btw, what's your upload speed? - A low speed would mean that streaming may be pretty hard. Sandy Bridge has been lowered (very slightly) and it's a new socket, so there shouldn't go that long before they drop a bit.
