Well facepunch, this is my first build so I thought it would be best to get a few extra opinions on my rig I should be getting relatively soon. Notes: •Salvaging Hard Drives (1x F3 & 1x F1) •Salvaging CD/DVD drive lightscribe combo •Salvaging media card reader •No need for OS, any accessories (mouse, keyboard etc) •Monitor is 22", 1680x1050. Would intend to play games such as Team Fortress 2, Bad Company 2, Age of Conan etc. •I live in Ireland, so if you are going to include links, price on eBuyer preferably. Want to spend as shy of €700 ($900) as possible. Currently have:
That hexa-core processor isn't that good for gaming, a quad core actually performs better. You also don't need a 700W PSU and can get a better GPU for that money GPU:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/222056 Motherboard:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/170277 CPU:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/190673 RAM:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/192341 PSU:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/127861 Case:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143854 £644
Why are you saying euros when you're UK Finley's build is good but get this RAM: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/180490
Why are you saying euros when you're UK Finley's build is good but get this RAM: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/180490
Ireland use Euros.
Oh i didn't know eBuyer shipped to Ireland.
Oh i didn't know eBuyer shipped to Ireland.
They ship to the UK
I don't understand why you would go for a lesser CPU finley.. Get alot more bang for my buck with the 1055T. I can live with a 57xx series gpu until I upgrade again. And the motherboard didn't even have USB3, and had a shit chipset. (And to clear it up - I am Irish. I selected eBuyer as THEY HAVE SHIPPED TO ME BEFORE, and do so in a very quick and efficient manner. I used different currencies as the majority of users in this section are American.)
The AMD quad outperforms the hexacore in games and pretty much everything.
If gaming, the 5850 is far faster than the 5770 and it is definitely not a good idea to sacrifice the 5850 for a six-core CPU.
The AMD quad outperforms the hexacore in games and pretty much everything.
Assuming the 1055t is overclocked to the same speed, which it can do comfortably, I find that hard to believe.
If gaming, the 5850 is far faster than the 5770 and it is definitely not a good idea to sacrifice the 5850 for a six-core CPU.
The difference between a hexacore and finley's is £30. The difference between a 5770 and 5850 is £120.
They ship to the UK
Yeh but Ireland isn't in the UK
Yeh but Ireland isn't in the UK
Would you just drop it, they ship to Ireland AND the uk.
OK i was interested.
Yeh but Ireland isn't in the UK
Half of it is.
Half of it is.
Northern Ireland is very much separate to Ireland.
Having a hard time deciding between the 1055t and an i5 750.. the 750 outperforms the 1055t in almost every single aspect from what I have seen from benchmarks..
Chose the i5 750 unless you are rendering and stuff.
i5 beats the 1055t and the 955 easily, so you could get these: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/194679 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/172755 Also it is definitely worth getting a 5850, it'll extend the life of your build by a large amount because it can handle DX11 better than the 5770
Also it is definitely worth getting a 5850, it'll extend the life of your build by a large amount because it can handle DX11 than the 5770
5770 has dx11 too. Look, if I had the money for a 5850, I would get one. But at the moment, I can't fit one in on my current budget. Once I have some more money, I will upgrade though. I am currently on a GeForce 9500gs, so even the 5770 is a fucking huge step up. Look, if you think you can fit a 5850 into it within my budget, I'd be grateful, but I don't see any way. I missed out a better there, so it wasn't very clear. Youcan fit a 5850 into your budget as my build showed you. It isn't worth losing a 5850 just so you can get an i5 over an i7 [editline]07:54PM[/editline] Here's a slight update to my previous build: GPU:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/222056 Motherboard:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/206153 CPU:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/190673 RAM:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/180490 PSU:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/127861 Case:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143854 £670
That's still over budget by about £70, not sure if I can cut it >.>
Well only you know if you can get the extra money. Here's some benchmarks between the 5770 and 5850 to help you decide: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5770,2446-7.html

Increase is less then it is from a 955 to an i5.

2GB of RAM? I already use over 2GB near constantly with my current 3GB :/ Yeah, not sure about getting a 4890.. If I am getting a 5850 later on, I think a 4890 would be better than a 5770 since I'll be getting rid of it soon, and will have no need for dx11. eBuyer don't have any 4890's though :/
No, 4GB of RAM. 2 x 2 = 4. And can't you afford to get the 5850 now if it comes to £610..?
eBuyer don't have any 4890's though :/
You say that like eBuyer is the only shop on the planet. There's no reason why you can't buy a 4890 elsewhere, for example there is one for £135 on Aria, who are perfectly trustworthy.

Not an option. While eBuyer aren't the only shop on the planet, they are one of the few who ship to Ireland at what it costs and not bumping up the price by over 200%. Mobo is a bit meh, RAM also looks quite weak, but I guess you did leave a bit of room for the 5850..
