• BSOD on very startup

I have a terrifying problem. I have a pretty decent computer, its only about 4 months old. Just yesterday I left it to go to dinner etc, and when I came back I found it on that startup screen, the very first one with all the white text etc (does it have a name?) It didn't seem to be doing anything and it wouldn't budge so I just restarted it. However, when it booted up again it came up with a that same white-writing-on-black screen saying that a previous startup had failed and I could either boot it normally/last known good config/safe mode. I selected normal and it goes to startup, gets to the screen (I have xp home btw) with the windows logo and the loading bar, then it flickers the blue screen of death, not long enough to read its contents, and then restarts and goes back to the aforementioned screen of startup options. I tried it with all the other options mentioned (safe mode etc) but it still has the same problem. What the hell can I do? If you need comp specs or feedback I'll be glad to deliver.
I've seen several people with this problem running very old versions of Windows XP with new hardware if you run an old version of windows xp, try installing a newer one. you could also try launching the windows repair console and type in: chkdsk -r fixboot fixmbr that worked with the computers which had that problem
The Windows repair console? Does that require the the Windows disc? Because that could prove to be a slight problem... ie i don't have it But I do have a XP Professional disc :S
What's the error? It has a long code 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x000000000 text string around the lower middle.
I have the same problem with my Rig. But I never get a chance to see what the BSOD screen says, flickers off then reboots and Windows XP was up to date for me.
