• Can you recommend a decent-priced CPU?

As thread title states, I need a new CPU - to match the R9 290X GPU I've got in my rig; but I haven't really got a clue when it comes to PC building. I'd like to keep the spend to as little as possible (as far under £200). My current CPU is Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @2.50GHZ (I'm guessing this isn't particularly above-potato standard, and is acting as a bottleneck). Really, I think I just want somebody who knows what they're doing to tell me it's all going to be okay. Many thanks in advance!
What RAM do you current have? Some 775 chipsets use ddr3
You're going to bottle your self hard. Raise your budget cause you'll need another motherboard + ram + cpu before it won't bottle neck.
How much exactly am I going to need to raise it by? I'm willing to spend within reason but would prefer to keep costs low.
What RAM do you current have? Upping my budget doesn't seem too bad when I see that I'm replacing and upgrading quite a bit of stuff. Thanks for your help, I'll go with your suggestion! Really appreciate it.
