I purchased a motherboard from ebay because the guy reported no display but when I tried it a simple reset fixed the problem, then the display went again and came back after a short wait (overheat?)
Anyway it was working fine since then and I decided to start using and AV cable and now it doesn't display a thing despite leaving it and despite resetting.
I haven't tried hacking it but I do have an E3 card reader.

Sounds like the board was on its last legs and you managed to get it running for a little bit but now it's fried for good.
Tough luck.

I'm certain it's fine, the PS3 still turns on.
If you're certain it's fine then why did you even come in here asking for advice?

I wanted advice on fixing the problem, either way I've fixed it no thanks to you.
