Why do i get the feeling that its not gonna be as much fun as they make it look.
Because it's common knowledge that teamwork of any sort is a myth in BF3, chances of you seeing any cooperation like that in game are very slim.
You've had some asshole teamates then.
Just the average player, really. RPG spammers, 1 man army's, the "FUCK YOU GUYS I'M THE BEST PLAYER HERE WHY IS NO ONE LISTENING TO ME" guy
Did they really just use "amazeballs" in their title? Really?
Because it's common knowledge that teamwork of any sort is a myth in BF3, chances of you seeing any cooperation like that in game are very slim.
I've encountered lots of good and bad teamplay in BF3.
You've had some asshole teamates then.
Not assholes per se. As none of my friends play BF3 anymore i have to rely upon the average pub player for 'teamwork'. I have more chance getting blood from a stone than i do ammo from a support half the time. Grated i do occasionally get blessed with good team work but for the most part it's a load of guys playing TDM doing their own thing while maybe capturing an objective.
You're hardly ever going to see legitimate team work The best teamwork you will ever see in BF3 is the spawn, then after about 1 minute all the players are spread across the map and it doesn't even matter
Don't really like BF3 but I will admit that looks fun. Unfortunately the game will turn into DM 2 days after release like most CTF gametypes.

hahahaha as if that situatation would ever happen
Even though it's definitely orchestrated (most marketing Battlefield trailers are) it looks really fucking cool.
That could only happen in a very well orchestrated fashion or scripted single player Everyone plays multiplayer games in a single player mindset
Well I had a shit ton of fun in pretty much all of the CTF game modes most decent games have, hell, some of the best memories I have of games are me playing CTF on Blood Gulch on Halo 2. Can't see CTF being any worse in this, honestly.
You've had some asshole teamates then.
Nah, it seems pretty standard. My friends and I play pretty often and we're not particularly good at racking up kills or having a high k/d ratio, but pretty much our entire time in a conquest match is spent sprinting between capture points and as a result we're usually at the top of the leaderboard. The thing is that while we, as a squad, are pretty well organized and we work together very well, the rest of the team isn't always on the same page. Many players (and I see this in other games as well, especially Call of Duty) treat just about every gametype as some form of deathmatch rather than working together to accomplish the actual objective of the match. Obviously there are exceptions (I've seen some frighteningly good opposing teams that knew exactly how to control us and keep us pinned) but that seems to be a rarity.
I play battlefield with a group of 3 (soon to be 4) other friends who I go to school with. We use the voice and party features, and it really changes the game. Battlefield 3 -with friends- is easily one of the best shooters I've ever played.
Just last night I spawned into an Aftermath game on I think monolith, saw an enemy tank and ducked for cover. Some publord in my squad spawns on me, instantly shoots the tank with an rpg and sits on top of me in the only cover around and gets us both killed. My response was to ask in all chat what sort or retard would do that, and another dude in my squad said bads could be trusted to do it reliably. I asked if he wanted to roam the map being bads together and for the next to rounds we worked together, me dropping ammo and c4ing shit and him reviving me when it went wrong and we got mvp 1 and 2 for our team You just have to look for it Also why are they adding more lock on missiles WHY. They are boring as batshit, the AA from BC2 was much more engaging and fun, why fix it if its not broke.
My only argument to why battlefield 3 is bad, Isn't because of the gameplay or teamwork, Its more based on punk busters cheating mechanism, How if you haven't cheated once in the game, And someone else does, or they get your info and cheat on it, You instantly lose any rights to playing on punkbuster enabled servers, Which isn't as bad as some people deserve it, yes. But its still kinda stupid how you have to now play on non enabled punk buster servers and there's only about 5 people on almost everyday on the original maps. And if you do get a new account and bf3, you just wasted more money on a game than you had to.
The worst part of Battlefield 3 is Battlelog. I don't know how things go down at DICE, and I've liked basically all of their games quite a bit, but since the beginning it just seems like they don't have anyone working on the network side of their game. It's hilariously difficult at times to get going with a group of friends because of the multitude of fuckups that can occur between logging into Battlelog and getting into the same squad. My only other complaint is how retarded the average BF3 player is but that's with every popular shooter and comes with the territory, hardly DICE or EA fault.
You just have to have the right server. I have a server where I got all my buds from back home and here at college and we actually play the game.
The game is still a bitch to run.
