• GTX 550 Ti in HP prebuilt. Is this going to work?

Okay FP'ers, I'm hoping to upgrade my HP m9450 (come on, it was a gift for finishing high school) because my 9800GT died. I've stumbled upon this card. However, it requires a 400W PSU (check; Delta 460W, apparently makes units for Antec) and 24 amps on +12V. There are +12V1 18A and +12V2 18A. Does that mean that they add up? And finally there's my mobo. It's some no name shiz, so I'm not entirely sure about it. So, the question is, should I go for it or invest in weaker card and give up my hopes for low-mid tier PC? Thanks for reading, I'm a HW noob.
Well, It was a 9800GTX, it took alot power AFAIK. Should run well, but usually a 460 or AMD 6870 is better value than a 550Ti,
You may aswell spend another $10 and get a 6850: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908
OK, thanks for replies. I've checked out some 460's and they all require 2 6-pin PCI-e conectors. However, my crappy PSU has only one 6-pin conector. Can I use this to create another from two free 4 pins? Anyhow, I've read that 460 requires cca. 24 amps on 12V and my PSU's max load on 12V is 385W, therefore I have 32 amps available on 12V, right? I just want to make sure that my new GPU won't turn into BBQ P.S. I have no idea why I show up as an American.

make sure your card that your going to buy can fit, im running a HP prebuilt as well but with a 260GTX and it barely fits :v:
Stay the fuck away from Antec, or anyone that has anything to do with them, unless you want to risk destroying your hardware from shitty Fuhjyyu capacitor syndrome. That is, unless you want to void the warranty and replace every last capacitor with Nichicon or Rubycons, and fix the broken as fuck thermistor controlled fans.

So it seems I read correctly. And I have yet to see an Antec PSU that doesn't use Fuhjyyu caps, and I've worked on some in the past 2 months that were manufactured this year and last year. Oldest I've seen was from 2004, newest I've seen is from 2011.
the thread still has nothing to do with antec, you should be complaining about delta http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371048
All Japanese Brand Caps All Japanese brand capacitors inside the High Current Gamer Series ensure extremely high stability and product lifespan.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371043
Japanese Brand Caps The capacitors inside the HCP-1200 are made from Japanese companies renowned for high durability and long-term reliability.
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story3&reid=140
Nippon-Chemicon furnishes all the caps in this thing, by the way.
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=211
All but one of the capacitors in the unit are Nippon Chemi-Con.
