WHAT I WOULD LIKE with a cherry on top: Monitor / SDD / Blu Ray software recommendations
moniez = USD
Location = US - East Coast
Store = Newegg
System Specs (Built Jan 12'):
OS: Win7 (if you really need to know)
CPU = FX Quad Core; OC'd to 4.1 (on stock for now :downs:, and no shit for the cpu; focus on the other stuff)
GPU = Sapphire AMD6870
MB = 990fx Fatality ASRock
Current P.O.S Monitor = Lenovo 19" (jacked from school recycling; someone punched the widescreen I tired to grab :v:; fn' a-holes)
I will most likely wait for my birthday in about 2 weeks or labor day to roll around for newegg sales and I will make purchases then.
Any positive suggestion that is not about my cpu or why I need to go intel; would be Greatly Apprecitated.

Monitor
- Plan to triple screen so keep in mind for screen edges but that is a minor thing
- Speakers are a bonus but will not be a deciding factor
- VESA compatible for VFX stand I plan to use
- Have looked at the Dell Ultras(kinda pricey), Acer, and ASUS
Size= 21"-24"
Cost = < $200
Use = Games(BF3/GW/GW2/MC), some basic CAD, programming, Blu Ray (once I get some damn software; curse Samsung and their oem's)
SSD
- more of a recommendation
Size = 60 GB - ~120Gb
Use = OS, BF3/GW/GW2/MC and some other games, programming/simulators for XNA/Java, maybe a few favorite movies?
Price = no more than $100
Blu Ray Software Suggestions???
- Samsung Blur Ray Drive Oem currently installed
-- no software + drive doesn't exist on Samsung website + support is a bunch of shit + no software downloads for Samsung
- Just wanna be able to watch some Blu Ray without major expense
- Do I buy editing software or is there an actual codec I can buy?
Price = ~$50 if possible; can go a little higher

Reason for Post:
To any mods, I cannot use search so this my way of searching even though its a multi-topic post. And for those who question me, search had been working on a Monday a while back and then the next magical day, it stopped working and I am unsure if I pissed someone off in the management but I am sorry. My apology to management: The pedestrians section of this page, last bubbly.
Why do Op's on this subtopic have to beg for answers? I mean really, why?
Why do Op's on this subtopic have to beg for answers? I mean really, why?
Because sometimes people have jobs and other shit to do, and miss certain topics. Either bump the thread like you did, or pm me or someone else in here for direct help.
Anyways....
Monitor: LG IPS 23in
SSD: Crucial M4 128
Bluray : Lite-on Reader, DVD Burner
A writer is about ~50 more.
I understand the work part; its just the skipping of the topics relatively close to the top. Gets me every time I post and I hate it but I'll learn someday.
Didn't think about LG; looks like a good screen but Im worried about that bleeding as I tend to do more gaming than anything else so far.
I do like the SSD but is the 64Gb version just as good or are there better 64 GB's?
And as far as the drive goes, would that software work with my current drive? I was looking more of a means of software but I didn't think about a second drive as an option...
Thanks for the suggestions anyways.

-LG makes really good budget screens.(they produce the LCD themselves) He linked an IPS which is pretty much the best for great blacks and accurate colors. (minor problem with IPS is the response time)
-Crucial makes some of the best SSD's. For 64 GB they are probably the best. (Intel is also a big player here)
-You didnt really make clear that you alreaddy had a Blu ray drive installed.

Is there a step down version that's not IPS? I have to run all my purchases by my parents and my dad is not a fan of spending 200 on a monitor so I may have to trim my budget on that one.
I think I'll get the Crucial 64 then when the labor day sale comes around so that's checked off.
My apologizes about the blu-ray; I think it may be cheaper to get a second drive instead of buying software unless someone knows of a ~$30/40 blu-ray software
That screen is a great buy for an ips, but your choice. Here is a decent screen for $140: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009266
I know PowerDvd plays blu rays.
