I recently installed windows 7 on my macbook via bootcamp and it has worked perfectly up to this point.
I've only installed firefox, avast, CCleaner, steam, torchlight and trine.
I've tried installing the latest drivers from nVidias site, but still nothing.
Also, I can press cmd alt delete to bring up the task manager and start most programs that way, but explorer.exe or any of the control-panel panes won't start.
Anyone got an idea on what I can do?
explorer.exe could have corrupted.
I would ask someone with the same windows 7 version as you to upload an unmodified version of it and replace it using a live ubuntu usb.
Here's a guide on how to make a Ubuntu Live USB: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick
Once its made, you just boot from it. Put the copy of explorer.exe you obtained on a seperate USB drive and plug it in once your in Ubuntu, and navigate to the windows partition and replace the old explorer with the new one.
I've got the same windows 7 version on my desktop PC so I can do that myself.
I'll try it, thanks!
Yeah do that
