I did everything nicely (drivers, evdev all that fancy crap). My hald is started as well. However, the pointer/keybd are STILL freezing. I look in the log file and what do I see? IT DISABLES the mouse and keyboard right after detecting it, saying that "i need to disable AllowEmptyInput". Where do I find the fucker? I looked all over. Just tell me the file to find/add it in please. Thxbye. [editline]06:09AM[/editline] Aww for fucks sake. I was able to add it accordingly and set it to off, but still my keyboard and mouse are completely frozen. Not even capslock turns on or anything, and I need to hard reboot the whole machine.
how are you launching your window manager? I had a similar issue on arch a few months ago, and launching with ck-launch-session fixed it
Do you have xf86-input-mouse and xf86-input-keyboard as well? I was told once that you only need evdev but when I tried it I was having the same problem until I added mouse and keyboard. You can add them to your INPUT_DEVICES in make.conf and do an emerge -avN world.
