I'm using Vista and it just stays frozen on the screen where it says shutting down. But the but the circle cursor thing keeps spinning around as if it is still shuting down. But i have left it for hours and nothing happens it just stays on that screen. The only way to get it off the screen is to turn it off by the power button, but i really don't like doing that. Is there a way to fix this?
-snip- didnt read. I have this problem with my desktop
I had this problem with my desktop. Was the motherboard being fucked.
Does this happen every time you shut down?
Pushing the power button in isn't going to be a problem, especially if it's frozen or already shutting down. Still, it freezing like that shouldn't happen normally.

It doesn't tell me that there has been an in-correct shutdown or ask me to press enter/F1 to continue, ect.
Usually there's only a harmless message if the computer failed to boot up, not shut down (aka if you turn it off when the compy is starting up).
