Facepunch Doctors I require assistance. What is this weird spot on my nose? - General

[I](This is more or less solved. Mods can close if they feel like it. Otherwise you can discuss my chin hair or some shit if that suits you.)[/I] On first glance it looks like a pimple. However this particular mark has been around for months now and doesn't seem to want to go away. On close inspection it looks to me like a pimple that my skin seems to have formed a ring around; of course that sounds silly. I remember months ago when I first saw it I assumed it was a pimple so I attempted to pop it. Doing so resulted in me somewhat painfully extracting a small piece of what seemed to be a dry clump of skin. After that was out there was then a small hole where the mark used to be. I figured it would heal and go away except it came back after a while. I repeated the process again and same deal. I decided to just leave it and see what happens. It's there on my nose and it's not going away. Maybe it was a pimple that left a scar? I have no clue. [t]http://i.imgur.com/7Zfj4xp.jpg[/t] Any ideas?

Looks like it might be a scar of sorts from when you pick it before. [editline]8th June 2014[/editline] I'm not a doctor, and I wasn't that attentive in health class either so, no guarantees.

It's a scar. Don't scrape your nose. No, it's never going away. Shave that chin to compensate.

If you're in a financial situation to be able to go and see a doctor without spending all of your money or something just do it.

Wouldn't bother a doctor over it just yet (Unless your actually concerned).

It is truly glorious otherwise I assure you. Other than that I may or may not ask my doctor for an opinion whenever I next see her.

It's a pimple/clogged pore that wasn't 100% drained and the body tried to grow over it, but realized it couldn't. Try popping it again. Use two small flat pieces of something stiff to press on either side. It helps to stick a finger up your nose and press against the roof of your nasal canal to give your nose extra firmness to push against, otherwise it'll be harder to get it out.

It's a clogged pore that is apparently a common occurrence with on the nose. I'm going to see to cleaning it and properly removing it. Thanks for the tip.

The thing is, washing the nose is a delicate balance between just enough and too much. Don't scrub at it hard otherwise you'll very easily strip skin even with a wash cloth. All you really need to do is gently rub your nose with both hands lathered in soap in a tee-pee shape like /\ over the body and bridge. Use soft soap, too. If you use bar soap, get a small thing of body wash specifically for your nose. If you dry it out too much your body will produce extra oil to compensate and it'll only make things worse
