So I'm pretty sure I'm bottle necking it because I have terrible performance in some games 5770 is nailing 60 fps on youtube.(mainly Borderlands and Crysis)And I know you're likely going to tell me my pc is shit, I am aware of this. It's just to hold me over until I can get a job. I just want to make sure the 5770 isn't actually THIS bad.
CPU: AMD Phenom X3 8250e @ 1.9 GHz(shut up)
RAM: 2GB DDR2 unidentifiable make(also shut up)
GPU: VisionTek HD5770
PSU: AGI 500w(idk either so shut up)
MoBo: ECS A740GM-M
HDD: Seagate 1TB at 5400rpm
Yeah the guy who built this had an IQ lower than his age. Yes I bought it second hand. Don't judge me.
Let the critique begin!
that 8250 is comparable to an athlon II 240. I would say you've got a slight to moderate bottleneck.
All righty then. If I were to upgrade the CPU and RAM though, I'd also need a new MoBo for DDR3 RAM, correct?

Overclock.

Except are you running the same graphics settings or lower than the one showed in the video?

I have a 5770 and it's brilliant. I had a crappy 2.20ghz dual core, was okay.. half a year later I get a i2500 3.3ghz quad core and it's like i've bought a brand new card. Done me greatly since January.
Can i get you guys opinion on how much my HD5870 is being bottlenecked on my system.
CPU is an E5300 running at 4.0Ghz. DDR2 is running at 1066Mhz. Motherboard is a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P; its a nice overclocker.
I have an upgrade planned, but college is expensive.
In my BIOS there is only CPU Frequency control, and in speccy it appears that adjusting that only boosts the bus speed, not the core clock
