What happened to this? http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=880560
Too many trolls, nobody was helping, it was in the wrong section anyways.
Sorry, you need a new case. Prebuilts= BTX
K, but uhh, you are talking to someone who doesn't know much about comps. so what is BTX? And also, I'm willing to buy one.
K, but uhh, you are talking to someone who doesn't know much about comps. so what is BTX? And also, I'm willing to buy one.
BTX is a form that prebuilt comps use, for motherboard and case. The case uses propitiatory connectors, which makes it impossible to replace the mobo, another reason, is even if it was an ATX case, the cooling probably sucks. AND IF IT WAS ATX, IT STILL WOULDN'T WORK DUE TO PROPITATORY CONNECTORS
Prebuilts= BTX
No.
No.
95% of the time, Dell XPS and Alienware are exceptions.
95% of the time, Dell XPS and Alienware are exceptions.
Funny seeing as mine is a Packard Bell prebuilt (one of the leading brands in Britain for prebuilts still) with a m-ATX motherboard with all the standard connectors and mounts. They wouldn't be allowed to sell it if they advertised a ATX that wasn't up to standards.
Well...uhhh...how do I check if it's ATX or BTX
Take a picture of the inside of the case and post it here.
Take a picture of the inside of the case and post it here.
Whoah slow down man he's not THAT smart. Break it down into simpler steps.
Is the one in the OP not sufficient?
Open up the thing and take pictures with a camera.
Their already are some, wtf? I'll do it, but it's a pain in the ass.
Is the one in the OP not sufficient?
CPU-Z will not tell us your mobo form factor.
Seriously, look at the whole fucking OP Pictures of the Case's Inside: http://i47.tinypic.com/339pque.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/2nlvd6h.jpg

Yay, yeah, sorry for being a dick, I'm just angry with all the bad news I'm getting with my computer. So, what? Are those upgrades possible?
What resolution are you planning on playing Team Fortress 2 at? [editline]05:43AM[/editline] Sorry man, but your links don't work for me.
1020xwhatever. The default one. I'll repost them.
-snip-
There; fixed
The upgrades you posted aren't really upgrades. These are the bare minimum upgrades you should make imo: (couldn't find mobo w/ 2 IDE slots so that's why the SATA harddrive is in there)
$279? I'll have to save up some money then.
Just save up for a new computer. You probably won't be able to get the MOBO to work because some prebuilts have the case connectors all in one plug that only works with their MOBOs
Anyway you're in luck, it's not BTX.
?
?
BTX is a messed up motherboard size used by mostly prebuilts. Here's a comparison. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:6WoedOjampiEXM:http://img.tomshardware.com/us/2005/12/06/either_way_atx_or_btx_cases/atx-bax.jpg ATX/m-ATX are the standard boards today. BTX is older and everything is aligned differently.
