Those who bought it, I heard it's completely different from the first game. Are the changes positive or negative in your opinion?

absolutely 100% negative, youre better off just playing the first
heres just a bunch of reasons as well:
>10 tower maximum shared between players
>can't upgrade weapons
>small as fuck maps
>respawn
>regenerating health
>shit customization of loadout
>we want the call of duty audience
>"campaign" just levels strung together
>them TINY as FUCK maps
>main character Skye is now unlikable and lost all redeeming qualities she had from sanctum 1
>Character models are hideous and the animations are shit
>Towers are weak
>Towers are expensive (cheapest is 100)
>You can only afford to build or upgrade 1-2 towers per wave
>blocks are a separate resource
>barely given any each wave
>Resources are not shared between players
>Resources have to be picked up every wave over by the core
>Timed build phases
>maze-building is fucked
>small areas you can put blocks down on and then large empty areas for the lumes to walk to the core
>Hitboxes are fucked
>No damage direction indicator
>HUD is awful and currently buggy (pic related)
>No core health on HUD, have to look directly at the core to see
>HUD doesn't show upgrade costs
>"Overcharge" to make up for the lack of towers
>Top-down map is gone
>Boss monsters one-shot all your walls and towers and with the tiny tower limit they can easily destroy most of your towers on their way to the core, completely fucking you
>Enemy focus on throwing you off the map to kill you
>No secret plot elements or raspberries hidden in the maps
>Invisible walls everywhere
>Netcode is shit (disconnects & lag)
and lord only knows what the fuck they did to skye's design, she looks like a man girl now

tl;dr the devs must have sniffed a liter of paint thinner, got the idea of making a sequel and shat this crap out
Consoles can't handle more than 10 towers? Why the fuck do you release the same version for consoles and PC, if you do know that PCs can gandle more than 10 towers and basicly it's devs fault of a poor optimization. But I like the game overall.

Furnost pretty much hit the nail on the head. I think some of the new changes are alright for playing by yourself, but when I went to play online, the amount of fun I was having plummeted.
The lack of hidden story elements and easter eggs hurts the most for me though, loved that about the first game.
Rather dissapointed with this as well. They really screwed up the core mechanics. Couldn't play more than a few matches before getting bored out of my mind and just quitting.
The damage control they're doing on their forum is hilarious.
Released way too soon.
Oh.
It's sad if this is actually as bad as you guys are saying it is.
I was looking forward to this game :c
They won't fix those major gameplay issues, right? I heard they were being pretty stubborn over it.
what you perceive as 'issues' is, i guess, 'new and innovative (to sanctum that is) gameplay features' to them
s, no.
How the fuck do you take such a drastic step backwards, the features taken out look like the list of things that would be added in to a direct sequel to a more simpler game.

Consoles.
I could live with these changes if there wasn't a tower limit and I got more than 180 resources per round. Hell, I could even live with the ten tower cap if I got some more goddamn resources. You know how much you can do with 180 resources? Fuck all, that's what.
I don't mind the new art style, in fact I actually like it, I don't mind heading back to the core to get my resources, I don't mind the new focus on guns, but how the hell did they fuck up on the 'tower' part of tower defence.
I've been playing the game since it came out and I quite like it. I get that there are problems with it, and I particularly don't like the lack of resource sharing. Many of the issues the guy that was quoted had are a moot point or wrong though. I'll just reply to most of it to sum up my points rather than a paragraph or two.
>10 tower maximum shared between players
I'd like to see more towers too, but they did make towers inherently stronger compared to base strength in the original game.
>can't upgrade weapons
Weapons likewise are pretty strong now, perks make them even better. Try combining the sniper with the lightning arc, exploding corpse, and marksman upgrades. Turns it into a kill cannon.
>small as fuck maps
Some of them are small yes, but others were friggin huge compared to the original game.
>respawn
Necessary since you can actually die now from aggro. There's a Feat of Strength that disables respawning until the next round.
>regenerating health
You'd be pretty fucked without this against Spitflies and Screamers/Warriors.
>shit customization of loadout
I don't see how perks and secondary weapon choices are less customization compared to the original.
>we want the call of duty audience
You would not believe how many people say this. Take it how you will though.
>"campaign" just levels strung together
I'm tempted to agree, the devs could have done it better.
>main character Skye is now unlikable and lost all redeeming qualities she had from sanctum 1
Personal preference yo, her haircut is because of a nasty scar a Warrior (I think) left on her sticking out otherwise. She's a lot more serious and confident now as a result of being the #1 Core Guardian. I'd call that character development.
>Character models are hideous and the animations are shit
Don't know where he got that idea from. I quite like the models, though the animations are just decent.
>Towers are weak
Yeah no, see above. They drop off later but I haven't had many problems with them.
>Towers are expensive (cheapest is 100)
Design decision afaik, towers are supposed to be strategic and well placed to take advantage of the cost.
>You can only afford to build or upgrade 1-2 towers per wave
Again, a pacing thing. I'd like to build more towers too though.
>blocks are a separate resource
This bothered me a lot at first but I got used to it.
>Resources are not shared between players
Principle gripe with the game. The devs have stated they might change this if the outcry is harsh enough. It was a tough decision though from what I read.
>Resources have to be picked up every wave over by the core
Very annoying, especially on timed waves. Agreed.
>Timed build phases
VERY fucking annoying. It's only some of the time though, not every wave.
>maze-building is fucked
Not really, certain maps by design give you less blocks. Others saturate you with a fair amount.
>small areas you can put blocks down on and then large empty areas for the lumes to walk to the core
Not really sure what he means by this.
>Hitboxes are fucked
Not really, they just made weakspots pretty hard to hit.
>No damage direction indicator
Doesn't bother me.
>HUD is awful and currently buggy (pic related)
>No core health on HUD, have to look directly at the core to see
>HUD doesn't show upgrade costs
Haven't really had any HUD issues other than the upgrade costs and core health suggestions. We really need those.
>"Overcharge" to make up for the lack of towers
I never overcharge my towers, better off upgrading the ones that aren't maxed yet.
>Top-down map is gone
I have no idea what the fuck this guy is on about here. Its in the top left corner ALL THE TIME for fucks sake.
>Boss monsters one-shot all your walls and towers and with the tiny tower limit they can easily destroy most of your towers on their way to the core, completely fucking you
Yeah they can really tear you a new one. Best way to deal with bosses is to simply move your towers farther back in the maze so all the scrubs kill themselves before the boss reaches them due to them moving slow.
>Enemy focus on throwing you off the map to kill you
Certain maps, and only certain enemies.
>No secret plot elements or raspberries hidden in the maps
There's a couple but nowhere near as many as the original. Quite sad to see most of them gone.
>Invisible walls everywhere
Not really.
>Netcode is shit (disconnects & lag)
Never had a single problem with lag or disconnects even with a party of 4 from all over the world. Maybe this guy just has shitty internet.
Good ones. Your post just make me feel better about this game.
I... really don't know what the fuck the devs were going for with this game. If it's still considered a tower defense game, it's about as simple as plants versus zombies.

What kind of men are you looking at that look like that. Skye still looks like a woman to me. God damn you have high standards.
