S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl crashing on start-up.

Title says it all. I went to start it up this morning, only to be met with BugTrap's crash report. I tried restarting steam, verifying the integrity of the game's cache, restarting my computer, etc. None of this was successful. I couldn't find any solutions on Google, so I thought I might as well ask here.
I am running Windows XP Home Edition, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is on Steam (obviously).
I had been playing it only an hour or so before the crash. I quit the game and turned off my computer, than an hour later rebooted because I wanted to play again, and the game wouldn't start.
Here's the error report:
Error Reason:
----------------------------------------
XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\stalker shadow of chernobyl\bin\xrCore.dll" at 001B:00597CB5, xrDebug::backend()+165 byte(s)
I have tried every obvious thing, including reinstalling the game. If anyone knows of a way to fix this, please tell me. Thanks.
Vidya drivers?
Just updated em, still no dice.
