• My Friend Needs Help With Building an $800 - $900 Gaming PC
    30 replies, posted
Basically, my friend would like to build a gaming computer from scratch within the budget of $800 - $900. EDIT: Also, I forgot to include in my original post that a CD/DVD/Optical drive will not be needed, but I will need everything else (hard drive, case, etc.).

You spoil me. <3
that one combo isnt there anymore [editline]10:38AM[/editline] like mobo and cpu combo
PSU and disc drive, I'll see if I can find a good combo Case is missing too. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106085 CD burner http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042 Antec 300 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171031 Coolermaster PSU Should do pretty well, not sure on CD drive though, you can get a better one. Not combos, and I'm too lazy to check how close it is to the budget right now. I'm not sure on the LITEon just because that specific one seems too good of a price, I like the company as a whole though Whole Build, combined with John Edwards', so nothing is out of stock
onlite are pretty good.
that's a CD burner not DVD
Oh, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129043 Would this work, I don't have experience with choosing drives and PSUs

no you can but the amps aren't right for that psu
no you can but the amps aren't right for that psu
So does that mean that I'd need a different power supply than the one suggested? Also, I forgot to include in my original post that a CD/DVD/Optical drive will not be needed, but I will need everything else (hard drive, case, etc.).
the 550w version should be fine I use it, it powered 2 3850's
So do you still suggest what you originally posted earlier then?
you do know those deals have ended right
Well I'm sorry, but can someone please suggest another list of parts? If not, then I have a pretty good idea of what to recommend. I'd really appreciate it.
are you going to buy it this time
are you going to buy it this time
Yes, I'm sorry, but the past couple of days at work have been really stressful that I haven't been able to check this thread let-alone talk to my friend about this. If somebody could still recommend a $900 gaming rig with fresh deals that could be bought by the end of the week, I'd appreciate it very much.

And don't you need to include the OS in those builds?
Won't you need a optical drive to install the OS? And don't you need to include the OS in those builds?
He has one. Win7.
Hey everyone, thanks for all the replies and help. I'm the friend soadnick is helping. I can't thank you all enough. Yes I went ahead and ordered everything. Problem being Newegg is having some problems with my Visa. (I came to find out they no longer accept Paypal). So I'm hoping that I can pull the shopping cart n00bmuffin posted back up, since Newegg so wonderfully deleted my shopping cart after telling me all of this. Again thank you all so much for the help. I'll let you all know how it goes.
Ok, just got the case in today. Man! I hadn't realized that a full tower was that big, I've seen them before, but it never dawned on me how big it was until I had to cut a part of my desk away to make it fit. ( note to everyone, circular saw ftw!) All the hardware should come in tomorrow some time. The last checkpoint UPS had was that it was in transit to my local UPS delivery warehouse.
I had to cut a part of my desk away to make it fit.
got any pics?
take pics
The HAF 922 is a mid tower so what are you talking about
The HAF 922 is a mid tower so what are you talking about
Maybe he got lucky and ended up with a 932.
I love fuckups like that. [editline]05:47AM[/editline] I tricked a guy at Gamestop into giving me one of the reserved BF: BC Gold Edition games.
fff. The best I've done is get a copy of Haze a day before release, and that game ended up sucking.
Haze looked cool with the previews and shit but the demo was terrible. Same thing happened with Fracture.
