Specs: Processor: AMD Athlon 64 dual core 5600+ 2.9GHz, 65W Memory: 2 GB Kingston RAM/800MHz (x2) Motherboard: ASUS M2N68-AM Power supply: PRO-POWER 500W I am currently using NVIDIA 9400GT 512MB but get low FPS in some of my games like the newer Call of Duty games no other problems with it though. I was thinking of going to 9800gt but I'm not sure, and I'm not familiar with any newer nvidia cards. need anymore specs just ask, and I'd like your opinion on which graphics card I should get.
What size is your monitor? If it's 19'' or lower, get a 4850 @512MB, if higher get the 1GB version. If you can't afford that, get a 9800GTX, though I think those two are around the same price. If you have 150$ to spend, go ahead and get a 4870@1GB. Though I'm unsure if your CPU will be bottlenecking anything.
I agree with the 4850 suggestion, that's likely to get you the most out of your money
9800GTX+ is usually a few dollars more than the average 4850. You're better off with the 4850.
4850s are a steal right now, less than $100 at Newegg. However, if Octo pie wants to stick with Nvidia, yeah a 9800GT will be light years better than a 9400.
my current monitor is an old CRT 15" monitor. But I think I'm getting a new monitor thats 17 or 19 inches. I'll look into this 4850, thanks.
The 4870 is tons better than the 50, though I guess you could nearly do a 4850x2 in place of a 70. For a 19'' monitor, you'll only need a 512MB card. The difference in FPS on a 1280x1024 monitor between a 512MB and a 1024MB card is about 3-5.

It's a Dual-Core Athlon x64. New graphics card, older processor. However, I think you'll do just fine.
