• Ringing coming from hard drive

Alright I got this sweet new gaming PC just 5 hours ago so I'm pretty mad It took a while to figure out the ringing was coming from there and nowhere else considering there's a loud stock fan at the front just above the hard drive, but that's definitely where it's coming from Is there a way to quieten it or am I just going to have to complain and buy a new one? It's actually incredibly irritating and starting to hurt
Where did you buy the PC? If you bought it new there should be some sort of warranty. If not, replace it. Hard drives are pass/fail in my book, and should never EVER make a noticeable noise.
Ordered it from Overclockers uk on monday, it has 12 months warranty I believe so i'll look into that
did you shake or moved your pc? Open the case and try to analyze if there is just some wires or un-tightened screws making sound to amplify.
Make sure everything is secured tightly. Screws, etc. If an HDD rocks or shakes too much it can break.
NOT the HDD screws though, DO NOT touch those. They have very specific torque settings.
No hard drive should be making noise! If yours is ringing, something is probably seriously wrong. I'm surprised that your computer is even working. The hard drive may have gotten bumped or hit during shipping. You should probably contact overclockers to see about getting a new hard drive.

A harddrive makes noise, especially when writing.
