This is a question that I have researched for a while now, with no avail. Would the Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 support DDR2 1066MHz ram or is restricted to DDR2 800MHz. Please dont go into telling me how bad the 680i chipset is or anything. To give a head start here is its homepage.
Dual Channel DDR2 800 for outstanding system performance
-snip- was stupid. As you see, it supports 800 MHz RAM.
On this website it says
NVIDIA DualDDR2 architecture 4 x 240-pin DIMM sockets support max. 8GB DDR2-400 to DDR2-1400 non-ECC memory
http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?id=2183&cid=6 Is that talking in overclocking terms or standard off the shelf ram
Standard, off the shelf RAM.
