You can be a cynical dick all you want but Star Citizen is one of the few kickstarter games to actually live up to its huge claims. It's in a fully playable state right now and is (gasp) fun to tinker with, and while the team has delayed things a lot, they actually come out as advertised.
Right now it's basically No Mans Sky with gameplay lul

While I try and always keep a healthy dose of skepticism, I really feel that they will at the very bare minimum release 3.0 and S42, and that is already enough to justify how much money I've spent (which isn't as much as I would have spent)
