Hi all, I have a MSI GE600 "gaming laptop"and it's great, I'm having trouble with steam though, its hard drive is 320 gb, and that would be fine with me, but it's split in half, and steam is reaching max size for the half its on.If I shrink the data partition I can't expand the os partition, likewise I can't shrink the os install and expand the data part. Right now I need help with either expanding this pain in the ass or putting in a new HDD. If I can't fix this hard drive, I want go get a 500 gb model, like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145361 How does this works with laptops? Do I make one of those recovery CD's in windows 7, put the new one in and it should install? And do laptops have certain HDD models which work with them? Thanks for your time Guys and gals.
I would recommend posting it here http://www.facepunch.com/forums/107-Technical-Support (They know everything)
Don't waste your time upgrading the hard disk or formatting - just symlink a bunch of games to the other partition.
If you want somewhat better battery life you could get a Scorpio Blue http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136314&cm_re=Scorpio_blue-_-22-136-314-_-Product If you have your recovery disks just install windows from that so you dont have to go driver hunting later.
