Hello fast threads, I'm in a bit of a pickle...
I am currently in 3rd year of secondary school in Ireland....and failing honors mathematics....I have exams in 3 weeks, should a drop down to pass before it's too late?
I've got a list of pros and cons;
Pros of staying in pass:
Only 1 exam paper
I will 100% definetly get an A
I will possibly still be able to get enough points in this subject in my leaving cert(3 years away) to the course i wish to do. (I also have Art, and Art + maths = video game desginer)
Cons:
It's too easy
It is embarrasing
I will be the first of 3 of my brothers(older) so far to do pass for this exam.
I dont want to dissappoint my mom
Pros of staying in honors:
It will enable me to have a wider range of courses, increase my ability in college etc.
Art + Maths = video game designer/video game developer etc.
Cons:
I will fail
There are 2 exams
It will be extremely embarrasing if i fail
I'd probably jump in front of a bus because ill fail
I think the choice is obvious, but some pros and cons are stronger than others, and i still cant decide.
Anyone have experience in changing levels?
Don't fail. That much should be obvious. Do what you must to prevent it.
It's 100% sure you'll fail?, if it wasn't, you wouldn't be making the question, right?.
Study hard and crack that test.
It's as boring as hell, but sitting down with your maths textbook and going through everything really does help.
It's the Maturitá, right? piece of cake.
Accept the mediocre success over the colossal failure. Earning "honors" in mathematics will have a negligible benefit on your future in college or beyond.
