I don't know shit about netbooks, laptops or whatever.
A laptop would too big to carry around with me.
I'd hate to spend more than 300€.
Harddrive can be as small as it can get because I'll never use more than 60gb anyway. Don't need a pre-installed OS either because I still have XP+code.
I wanna code on it (Is that a good idea with a netbook..?) and watch movies and maybe other stuff.
Also would it be able to run stuff like Minecraft?
So yeah, what's a good netbook in that price range?
What specs should I pay attention to?
Thanks.
The Asus 1201N or the 1201T would be perfect for that.
Most netbooks are the same, though some have ION (Better graphics performance), better batteries, AMD chips and 1336x768 resolution (No letter-boxing with HD video).
None, seriously, you can find a more powerful brand new laptop for around $350 USD. Netbooks are a sad replacement for laptops, don't buy one.

What a dumb thing to say.
How's it dumb? Only advantage netbooks have over laptops are size and weight. Honestly, unless mobility is the highest concern, then get one, but a standard laptop will serve much better, with an actual widescreen, more ram, cpu, etc. 300 euro is roughly $380, don't bug me about the fact that he's in Europe.

You can find a new laptop for $350, thats atleast decent hardware? Fat chance.
I would still venture away from a netbook for doing coding work. Maybe.. running through some lines. but nothing serious. Those keyboards will kill you. Literally, debugging to find out you mashed a few keys.

Easily? No. Possible? Yes. I'd look for him, but I'm not in the UK, so I'm not sure of the best stores/prices.

Theres some sights for that. But I highly doubt you're going to find anything with decent specs for $350. The best I found (with a 350 budget(in the states)) was a recertified compaq with a celeron 900. It does come with 2GB, and a 4500M (Intel IGP).
Nothing fancy.. but still, nothing decent. But if you want to do hard coding.. I suggest a notebook. But you're looking at 500+ (USD)
The best laptops ATTEMPTING to stay within the budget (European Market, Incl UK)
Also OP, whats your country of origin?
tiger direct might give you a good deal
I'm actually in Germany.
The Asus 1201N BenJ suggested costs like 450€ or so which is too much.
Notebooks are just too big to carry around.
Not sure about the coding thing. I don't think I'll code THAT much on it so I guess it'll be okay?
And minecraft is probably the toughest I wanna run. Also it should be able to run my own game but I don't even know how tough it is to run.
Seriously now; Can Netbooks for 250-300€ run minecraft?
Try misco.de. I cant even decipher what laptop is in deutsch. But give them a shot.
Okay so I have pretty much decided on an Asus 1005P for 270€.
(Almost like this except with no bluetooth and 160gb, but cheaper).
Some people say that getting a 2gb ram module would be a good idea, but it'd also mean that I have to pay 45€ extra.
So are 2gb instead of 1gb worth it? I plan to use XP.
Using XP, I do highly suggest getting an extra gig of ram.
I'm on a HP mini 110 and had it since Christmas, It has a great battery life and I have no complaints with it. Last time I checked it retailed at about 330 USD.
Dual core atom CPUs are rolling out so look for them.

Pretty sure that's out of my budget.

In Germany it costs even more than the 1005P from asus and they're pretty much the same thing.
Never buy stuff in Germany. Usually it's almost a 1$=1€ conversion.
