My mom is setting up her office and bought a 23" samsung to use as her primary display with her macbook pro. She basically wants it to be her only display. The only thing I could have it do was mirror mode at a lower resolution on the main screen, or dual mode which she does not want.
Is there any way that I can get it to display at the full resolution of the external display while the macbook is closed?
Edit:
Crap, misspelled the title.
Yeah, just hit the on button then instantly close the laptop when it's connected to the display. The start up screen should appear on the display instead. I've not got a pro but it works for me. Also, if the laptop's already on, plug in a mouse, close the laptop, connect it to the display then click the mouse and move it around a bit. The laptop should turn back on then just display on the Samsung.
Awesome! Tried that and it works. Thank you.
I use Insomnia for my laptop when using an external monitor, as shutting the lid places it into sleep mode closing an IM/connect features.
When I have an external display connected I can just close the lid and click the mouse and it just works.
