How do you become a gold member of Facepunch?

How?

Originally in order to become a gold member you'd have to be a member for 2 years, and have at least 2,000 posts.

Despite the amount of gold members now, I saw a few members already with post counts below 2,000, range of 1,500-1,000 posts.

I want to know the real answer of how to become a gold member of Facepunch.

Before the new system of 2000 posts and 2 years, people would occasionally be awarded gold member for extreme brilliance/stupidity (usually the latter).

And of course people could pay for it way back when...
