I was looking at some hard-drives on Newegg to buy and I'm thinking about getting this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284 Is this a good buy? I'm only gonna use it for gaming, if that's helpful.

Western Digital makes great hard drives. Buy it.
Sweet, thanks! Just wanted to get a second opinion.
I personally like: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148433&Tpk=1%20tb%207200.12
I was going to suggest this, considering the low price. But it seems you may have already made your purchase. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185&cm_sp=DailyDeal-_-22-152-185-_-Homepage
I bought 2 Western Digital 1TB HDD. Both of them aren't doing well. And they're still new. One fails to wake from sleep the other takes 30 seconds to start. Regardless I still recommend Western Digital.
Thanks all, I think I'll get the Western Digital, seems to get the best reviews.
Spinpoint F3 is faster.
My Western Digital external is great. Buy it. [editline]05:09PM[/editline] Yay 888 posts.
I'd take the Samsung HD103SJ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185&Tpk=HD103SJ Because it only spreads it's load over 2x 500gig platters, you get amazing speeds.

6GB/s > 3GB/s http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533 [editline]03:17PM[/editline] unless of course your motherboard can't handle it

All it does is increase the bandwidth.
6GB/s > 3GB/s
Madness.
Amazon has the same drive as OP for $10 cheaper! Just ordered a pair myself. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001C271MA/
As long as you don't get a shit brand such as Maxtor or Hitachi. Western Digital always seem to have good quality drives, but are usually more expensive then their Samsung or Seagate counterparts. Then again, you get what you pay for.
Yeah, I have never had a problem with a WD hard drive, they are very well made.
