• Pro Tools or FL Studio

Which piece of software is better for developing beats. I've been making beats for about 5 years now, and I'm curious what you guys think is the better program for the job.
From what the sound director at my theater has told me, Pro Tools has been around for a damn long time, and if you excuse the price (IIRC), it's great software for audio. FL Studio is also good but if you only use the presets it comes with, your beats may sound cheesy. My opinion
There really is no "best" DAW. It's all about preference really. Whatever makes you feel comfortable during production should be your choice. A beat/song/etc. shouldn't be judged based on the software, but by it's creator. I'd say try the demo for Pro Tools (if they have one) and FL and see which one you like better. By the way, what were you using to make music prior to this question?
Pro Tools has a 10 day trial. Try it out. Though Pro Tools seems more for like recorded audio, bands and that jazz.
I prefer FL Studio myself.
By the way, what were you using to make music prior to this question?
I've been using FL Studio, and don't plan on switching anytime soon. I was just wondering if there either program was decidedly better than the other.
I've always used Ableton, I find it simplistic and easy to use.
Cubase.
I've always used Ableton, I find it simplistic and easy to use.
I use Ableton too. mostly it depends on what kind of music you are going to make. I mostly run tracks for my church through it and I will make some backtracks in it. I have never record anything live in ableton, mostly just keys/synths, ect...
FLStudio is pretty nice even with the stock synthesizers you can make some pretty cool music and stuff also free lifetime updates, that's a very big thing because it started out as a simple loop-making thing and nowadays it contends with all the "big" music software, just imagine what it will be like in the future
