What does that mean? I have 8800GT, 2GB of RAM, ASUS P5K. Can't remember my processor. My computer also likes to freeze halfway through tasks and doesn't work.
Looking around, 1 long beep and 3 short beeps indicates a RAM problem. If your computer does boot up sometimes, run Memtest86+ on it.
Remove all your ram sticks but one. THen switch them out and boot undil you have found the faulty one.
Computer at school did this when we 'repositioned' some RAM.. We didn't steal it. Just took one computers RAM and stuck it in another (You'd consider it too if had to wait ~7 minutes from boot to open Microsoft Word).
but i only just bought this RAM! and I just only reformatted. Could it be because of the motherboard>?
but i only just bought this RAM! and I just only reformatted. Could it be because of the motherboard>?
It could be either a bad slot, which is VERY rare or you got a DOA stick, which is more likely.
