Hello Facepunch, Today I coded this application called 'ResLoad Notifier'. What it does is, it allows the user to set a notification, which will be shown when a process they specified uses more/less CPU than a specified value (works with total CPU usage as well). I made this because a friend requested it, but then thought it'd be nice to share it here too, so here it is... I'd be happy to hear of any kind of comments, ideas for next versions, or even bug reports... SourceForge Page: https://sourceforge.net/projects/resloadnotifier/ Enjoy!
This is Facepunch You must supply source code
This is Facepunch You must supply source code
This SC or no download / ban
Even though it looks like there is no sort of virus, it is still required
Ban for not giving out source? lol Edit: There's no virus people, just download and tell me your opinion...
Why do you need the source?
You will learn soon enough.
Why do you need the source?
Without reading through the source code, for all we know there could be a keylogger or something hiding in thar.
Without reading through the source code, for all we know there could be a keylogger or something hiding in thar.
There could be a keylogger in any program from the internet... I don't see people shooting off e-mails to valve asking for the source code to steam.
There could be a keylogger in any program from the internet... And they make oodles of money off Steam, so they don't really need to steal info from their customers.
There is no keylogger, I am the one who requested him to make this app. It's not like everyone wants to hand out their sources. If you don't trust this, don't use it, simple as that. Why steal when you can legally take it.
SC is required. Rules are rules, don't follow, consiquences, just warning you before a mod shows up.

So their incentive to be spyware of some sort would be zilch.
I didn't find anything in rules that mentions source codes?
I didn't find anything in rules that mentions source codes?
True. But common sense. Come on.
"post source code of anything you make" is not a common sense, not to me at least.
Not to you, but to the users of Facepunch
I've been facepunch user since late 2006.
SC is required. Rules are rules, don't follow, consiquences, just warning you before a mod shows up.
What rules? Don't be an idiot. Giving out the source code is a courtesy not a requirement.
How come all of a sudden everyone became bitchy for source code. If you don't trust it, don't use it. Plain and simple.
Yeah, but Steam is created by Valve who is a respected company. And they make oodles of money off Steam, so they don't really need to steal info from their customers.
Valve a respected company? Lulz. They're just a bunch of monkeys bashing their faces on keyboards and lucky anything coming out works.
Scanned it, safe. Running it in a sandbox, it's clean and it works.
Pretty sure sc requirement only applies to the Modules section.
To end this here, Im not willing to give the sc out... Not to prove my app is not a keylogger or sth... If someone PMs me asking for the sc, Id certainly give it to him. But for that reason? Just no If you trust it, use it. What's the big idea...? And, as johan_sm said, I don't think it's a rule... Edit: So, does anyone have anything useful to post? I need some comments/critique here, remember?
The reason we asked for the source code is because people do stupid shit behind the scenes. One time we had an app that allowed you to text people from your computer, a simple little tool. However it actually emailed the text and its headers to the creator's email address. Your refusal to give out the source to it really only pushes you further down the shifty track, to be honest. If you had a reputation, you wouldn't need to. [editline]8th November 2010[/editline] If he doesn't want to, someone just reflect it and post.
As I said, I would prefer not to give the source, at least not for this stupid reason. What's so suspicious, anyway? Will I steal a log of your cpu's usage? Relax people... Anyway, if you want to, use it. End of story...
Wow people seem awfully bitchy for the source code. It looks nice, the interface is clean and simple and it seems easy to use. Would certainly be useful if you're monitoring certain processes.
The source code rule is only for GMod Binary modules. Sigh.
He could post the source code and upload a diffrent file? So the whole show us the source code so we see there isn't a virus whatever in it is bullshit.
