I'm happy for more natural things tbh, this is way better than horses.
I like Minecraft, don't get me wrong. But could the developers be any slower at getting anything done?
Flowers, Flowers that always point East, and a particle effect.
How many months did that take
In the next patch, we'll have sunflowers that always face east. Carry one in your bag, and plop it down whenever you're not sure which way you should be going.
Or press f3....

Indie developers not usually known for their work ethic and skill suddenly made super rich off a game they don't have passion for anymore? A game where no matter what you do the viral overhype causes casual gamers and little kids to buy anyway?
I am guessing that's why they are slow on the game, also they are working on other projects I think.
Is it impossible to figure out which way east and west is by which way the sun is setting/rising?
Hey, Mojang! Mod API. I don't need your fucking sunflowers.

The playerbase of this game isnt smart enough.
Jesus christ they've got to be kidding. Can you imagine any other game who's change log would list these 3 features and nothing else after a few months since the last update.
Speaking from personal experience all of this could be implemented in a day, or even hours if you knew what the fuck you were doing.

Havnt they got Mod API yet? I went off minecraft a long time ago, before full release but even then I remember them saying they were going to do it
At this point they should just incorporate the most popular natural feeling mods (no guns/computer shit) and just have them come with the game, honestly. Shit gets developed so slow now.

I love making awesome looking houses out of almost nothing.
If anyone knows where I can find more simple designs that look good I'd appreciate it.

Good joke.
It certainly would have helped minecraft's development if notch wasn't constantly told that it was a perfect revolutionary game by like everyone. If he heard just once the things about it that needed work then maybe he would have changed his outlook on it.

Notch said he was going to add it, then he left.
Jeb said it was a high priority, but obvs not

Why do people get upset when there are updates to this game?
Why do people get upset when there are updates to this game?
Because it means they aren't putting as much work as they should into the mod API, which is basically what everyone is waiting for, then they wouldn't even need to update minecraft anymore because players would do it for them. Basically, people don't care about the miniscular, non-game changing shit they add every couple months
Why do people get upset when there are updates to this game?
Because it's a ridiculously successful game with next to no support.
11,908,003 sales according to their site. You'd think they would put together a real dev team or something.

They got like 20 developers, yet I think they spend all day on twitter talking to each other.
MC's updates are a joke.

Have you seen Tour Around Mojang's Office? If you did, you shouldn't have any more questions regarding their development team.

Minecraft is a big game. It takes a long time to flesh out updates, even small ones for projects this large. Why exactly is the mod API such a big deal? Excuse my ignorance but I'm not 100% sure what it will provide. It seems like people don't have any problems modding the game as it is right now.
They should just take inspiration from their modding community.
I would love the ability to build ships, or wagons for horses with blocks and then give them physics like this;

i dont think we played the same minecraft
except the clouds still only move north.
I can't remember the last time I played Minecraft and I'm glad I still don't. These updates are becoming a massive joke and yet they're there announcing the game coming to different platforms, they're really up their own arse at times.
You can also look at dirt to find north, because of the texture.

The scale of the project is huge. If you've ever developed software you would know how big of a game it really is. Especially since it's on so many different platforms

It only runs not like shit on one.
