Holy shit what a difference. I literally beat the game 2 days, looks like I'll have to play again.
Glad the see the mod is being made official!
I haven't played the Witcher 2 yet, are all these changes for the better or for the worse?
Holy crap, that's one hell of an update. I'll definitely have to play it after this. Especially since I got my new videocard and can run it well.
I might have to try this again. The combat felt very stiff to me back when I played it, which was horrible when I'd just came from playing Dark Souls. Pretty fucking cool to see a game 2 years old getting a patch this big though!
Geralt automatically parries enemy sword attacks and deflects incoming arrows.
Awww, but that's what made it hard, although I do like that they made Geralt more responsive and now you don't need to stop to block [editline]19th June 2013[/editline] I'm also on the fence about how to pull a riposte, I'll have to test it out
Good thing I picked this up during the sale, it definitely is worth it especially with this update.
Even the dark mode update made the game a lot better. I had already played the shit out of it before that and considered it a masterpiece
Oh cool. Maybe I'll get around to actually playing it some time. :v: I love the Witcher books, but I never really got into the games despite owning them for a while. Random thought: didn't this also release on Xbox at some point? Do they get any of the patches we do?
I have both games since a while but I haven't really played them yet. I got bored of the first one pretty fast but I'll try again. If you missed the Steam sale the game is currently at 6$ on gog.com by the way.
pretty sure this is a mod and not a patch
Fuck, but I'm doing a playthrough right now. Now I feel like I should stop. Ehhhhhh I'm only on Chapter 1 so I guess I'll start over and play on easy until I get back to the right spot. It takes so long to do so little in this game. :V
Huh, looks like this might drastically change the gameplay. I hope the process of "un-learning" the current combat technique won't be too painful :v:
Wait, auto-parry and block arrows? Did they change how blocking/parrying/deflecting worked? IE it took part of your stamina each try. I haven't played in a long time since I beat it. [editline]19th June 2013[/editline] I think
Riposte no longer costs Vigor.
answers my question. Might have to replay the game now!
Removed bonus damage for backstabs.
hiss
pretty sure this is a mod and not a patch
Please read, please
Please read, please
I did, I'm saying the article is misleading.
If it's gonna be on the summersale I'm probably going to pick it up.
I'm little bit confused, this will turn into a real update, right? From what I've read it seems like the combat will be more solid.
If it's gonna be on the summersale I'm probably going to pick it up.
Its 70% off (6USD) on GOG.com
release date?
How come no one reads the introductory paragraph to the notes?
The prominent modder, Andrzej Kwiatkowski, is currently working for CD Projekt as a gameplay designer. This mod was created during his spare time, whilst his day job was working on the Witcher 3. The update is due out within the next two weeks.
Is this only applicable to new game saves? I am already half way though the damn game :c
Will I have to restart my game? [editline]19th June 2013[/editline] wouldn't say 'misleading', it's a CD Projekt RED dev making it
Yes it is. Calling it a patch or update is misleading. It will be released like other mods on http://redkit.cdprojektred.com/
Guess I'll be playing the Witcher 2 again
Is Witcher 2 on GOG a Steam version?
I did, I'm saying the article is misleading.
Yes, one of the main designers doing this and it being offered through the normal DLC channels totally makes it not official. [editline]20th June 2013[/editline]
Is Witcher 2 on GOG a Steam version?
No, the GOG version has absolutely no DRM at all and runs through its own launcher and updater.
Woah right after I said I didn't like the unresponsiveness of the combat and movement after buying the game recently they go ahead and make everything fucking wayyyyy better, fucking awesome.
Is Witcher 2 on GOG a Steam version?
Every single game on GOG is DRM free.
Yes, one of the main designers doing this and it being offered through the normal DLC channels totally makes it not official.
It's being released through their modding channel, which anyone can upload stuff, in addition it was made during his spare time. Nothing official about this.
