Title says it all, I only have about 5 processes that launch on startup so I doubt it can be that, it takes about 5 minutes to get me to my desktop which is pretty attrocious.. What could it be do you think? OS Windows 7 Build 7100 x32 CPU Q6600 Motherboard Abit IP35 PRO Memory 3gb 800mhz, can't remember the brand Graphics Card 8800GTX 768mb
Uhhh have you looked a services? (Not sure if seven has them :/) Defrag. Clean up. What IM do you use and is it on start up? anti-virus?
I've tried defragging, cleaning up, disabling all of my start-up programs including my Anti-Virus.. Just none of it helped.
dunno about x86, but x64 logs on just fine.
Backup your stuff to a folder on C: OR wherever. Then, create a new user, and test the logon speed. If it's good, transfer your stuff across and delete the old account. A simple "New windows profile" might do it.
Only 5 minutes? Takes me 15

I agree, that did sound like a good idea.. But it didn't help. I guess I'll just have to put up with it until Windows 7 is released. Thanks anyway guys.
If its a fairly recent install then it could be your hard drive failing on you.
Happens me too on my Desktop PC. Frustrating as hell :(
Instantly to me. Obviously it's cause it has to load a ton of shit, so try deactivating things such as steam and GTA IV social network, things that aren't needed right at start up.
Reinstall windows. No, seriously. Cause if it is your hard drive, then windows will find problems when formatting the disk. That's a telltale sign that it's going down the tubes.
