• Is there a way to acquire Microsoft Office PowerPoint for free?

I remember hearing once that if you're a student you can get Microsoft Office for free or something. I tried googling it but didn't come up with any results myself. Does anyone know how I could get M-Office or even just PowerPoint?
I would suggest their DreamSpark program, but they don't seem to have Office there. Why not use LibreOffice Impress instead? It handles *.PPTs as well.
Certain schools/school districts/colleges/universities will provide MS office for free Also libre/open office/Google docs are good alternatives

yes
google drive presentation isn't half bad
of course not unless you're thinking of doing something illegal like... pirating software

Export it to a *.PNG and import that into whatever slideshow you're doing in Impress. And LibreOffice is literally OpenOffice in every way but name. It's a continuation of OO.
If you don't find OpenOffice.org/LibreOffice to be what you want, you may want to try this, which is free, though not open-source: http://www.freeoffice.com/ I use SoftMaker Office 2008, which is essentially the same thing, and I can say it's very good and I've had very few problems overall.
Just ask your dad to lend his computer for a few hours to you.
