So I have some cash now to finally replace my dead drive. I was wondering if this is a good buy. My budget is $25 but I really want the cheapest out there. I will only use this for installing my non-Steam games, so it does not have to be a burner. Also I live in America and it must be SATA. I have Windows 7 64bit Home Premium by the way.
ASUS Burner

1. Do I have to download/install any drivers?
2. Since I'm adding a new part to my PC do I have to do something with Windows?
Thank You!

Oh yeah it doesn't say "Windows 7" compatible on "Specifications", but I think it would still work. Would it?
Optical drives are plug and play. The only thing you might need drivers for is Lightscribe, which that drive doesn't have.
So am I good?

Still a bit worried about it working with Windows 7.

Lightscribe ftw.
Reviews say yes it should work fine
Yeah it's gonna work. No worries, yo.

Don't ever listen to Newegg reviews.

Ok going to purchase it today. Finally I can play Crysis, COD4, and Command&Conquer!
Does it come with a SATA cable by the way? I still haven't bought it because I asked my friend first if he had an extra drive, which he didn't.
OEM means it won't.
I don't even think most retail burners come with SATA cables.

Depending on your MOBO, it may be hard to fit a right angle connector.
I know the burner has the port going straight from the back, so a straight to straight cable may be better.
I already bought it anyway and besides it's blue.

Just put the angled connector on the drive. That's what I did.
