• 87C load temps on 5850

My 5850 has been getting hot latelly what with games that actually push it (Bad Company 2, Just Cause 2) compared to the games I used to play that didn't really push it at all (Source engine) I'm pretty damn sure 87 degrees is pushing it into the going to die zone, what can I do to make it not heat up so much? I tried putting the fan at 50% in CCC but it just stayed at 24%. Also it idle's at about 55C. I'm clearly doing something wrong or don't know anything about temps.
That's fine. [editline]11:56PM[/editline] The temps, that is.
Really? Because to me 87C seems like it would be dying sideways. [editline]03:58PM[/editline] Oh see right there. How can I fix it? CCC does nothing
For a 5850, 87C load isn't crazy.
Right now it feels high 60's low 70's.
From an Anandtech review of the 5850: [img]http://images.anandtech.com/graphs/5850_092909204359/20215.png[/img] 87C can be dust, hot case, or any number of things. It's fine.
Ok, thanks for that. Also, can I ask what the stock clocks are for a 5850? Because if mine is heating up to 5870 temps I'd like to ASSUME....
