I thought this had been going on for a while? Or is the new thing removing the fake view counts?
Probably the first good change Google's made to YouTube in a while
I was under the impression that the 301+ views thing was a result of this system already being in place
Knowing youtube and the last few things they have tried, the only videos that are going to be removed are the ones that arent doing what this is supposed to prevent.
My friend keeps wanting me to use a program called U2ubviews or something to help get him views. I dont want to do that, its just cheating.
I remember them saying they already did this exact thing before, which was obviously bullshit since you could still fake views just by refreshing the page.
It was previously only done once at 300 views, now they're doing it every so often for every video (probably only ones that are past the 300 mark)
The 301 system is to cut back on system use. Up until 300/305 views any time the video is clicked it counts as a view. After that it will check in batches for each view as to whether the person watched enough of it to count as a "view."
This system though is likely to go into more detail to determine if it was a human watching or just a machine creating views. I don't know how it would do that though.
So if I don't like a video I can just buy it some views? Neat

Hell, you used to be able to spam thumbs up/thumbs down by refreshing the page.
Oh wow, how old is that picture?
So that's why bullshit is popular, money, as fucking usual.
Can we move along to something else now?
