Available: 24 February 2015
A bit early to pre-order no?
yeah but the standard nowadays is to get the money as early as possible before people even know what they're buying
What the fuck? Pre-order nine months prior to the release, I think that's a new achievement.
And I just goth the first 2 games :V
yeah but the standard nowadays is to get the money as early as possible before people even know what they're buying
You do get TW and TW2 too so it's not too bad of a deal if you don't own these games. But still it's three whole seasons before it releases and that's a long time.
A bit early to pre-order no?
Safe bet that this won't be full of bugs. Or if it is full of bugs, expect a rerelease patch after release that fixes most things.
If there's any game actually worth pre-ordering over over the last/next year, I'd say this would be it. CDProjektRed are just the best people.
If you're going to preorder this, do it on GOG. Save money if you own the previous games on GOG (up to 27% if you own both games), get a small additional discount for preordering, and if your local price is higher than the original USD price, you get GOG credits to compensate.
Also GOG are working directly with CDPR to ensure they get more moneys.
buy it on gog instead
Also GOG are working directly with CDPR to ensure they get more moneys.
Well, of course when they own the service.
What the fuck? Pre-order nine months prior to the release, I think that's a new achievement.
Yeah right

"$47.99 (20% off) with The Witcher 1 and 2 on GOG.com" Not 27% off. But the GOG version comes with a lot more bonuses.
unfortunately steam is cheaper to me.
For some reason the Steam version is 40% off for me. Since I'm not really bothered about the extras or the GOG credit I think I'll get it there and save my money.
If you guys are going to buy this then do it on GoG. These devs are good folks and deserve every cent you give them without Steam taking a huge cut.
Don't preorder though.
How are the first two?
How are the first two?
The Witcher 2 is probably my favorite RPG. The first Witcher was alright but I never actually finished it because the combat was dull and act 2 is incredibly tedious, though I hear it improves after that.
How are the first two?
Brilliant.
How are the first two?
The first one is not bad, but it's a bit strange to play. You really need to get used to its mechanics. I prefer Witcher 2's mechanics over the first one.
February can't come soon enough.
How are the first two?
The Witcher is rough around the edges but a good game none the less. Like Raidyr said the game sort of trudges along for the first couple of chapters but everything after that, chapters 3, 4 and 5 until the epilogue, is great. Visually it isn't anything to write home about, and fighting can feel clumsy. If you're a fan of the series you really only play TW1 for the atmosphere, story and a save file to import. Witcher 2 on the other hand is like going from 480p to 1080p. It looks down right gorgeous, and the pacing is much better than the first. Everything gameplay wise is in almost every case entirely different than the first. Some people dislike the fighting, personally I didn't mind either games take on fighting, but TW2 is by far more fluid than it's predecessor. Edit: If you could only afford one, or only had time to play just one then I would strongly suggest skipping the first and just playing Witcher 2.
The GOG preorder gives you a lot more goodies too. A free copy of Neverwinter Nights, beta access to their new adventure game, the soundtrack, a comic, and an art book. To top it all off, it's DRM-free, so you'd be a dumbass to get it anywhere else.
yeah but the standard nowadays is to get the money as early as possible before people even know what they're buying
Then again, you know what you are getting with CD PR and the Witcher franchise. Plus, its 38€ for me. A game that hasn't even been released, that supposedly has a huge grade of quality, for much less than the average rehashed shitfest or triple A+ overhyped release.

Pre-ordering a game a month in advance? That's fine. But taking pre-orders 9 months before the game is released? That shit is just ridiculous. Pre-ordering is just guaranteeing devs money regardless of how bad the game is. Sadly pre-ordering is turning in to even more of a scam with 'early-access' games now - games that will likely never be finished to a complete state because the developers already have their money. Even if the developers are honest and complete the game, the vast majority of people will have already bought the game in Alpha and will be bored of it by then.
How are the first two?
The Witcher 2's combat is literally a rolling simulator but if you can get past that it's probably one of the best RPGs out there
yeah but the standard nowadays is to get the money as early as possible before people even know what they're buying
I know that I'm getting something good. 20% off is also pretty great.
No system specs yet too?
I know that I'm getting something good. 20% off is also pretty great.
The 20% off is just making it seem like you're saving money, the RRP is marked up massively. Nobody in their right mind buys a game for £50. Give it 2-4 weeks and you'll be seeing the game keys selling for 50% off the RRP. [editline]7th June 2014[/editline] Also the people who pre-ordered Duke Nukem Forever thought that they were definitely getting something good. People need to stop falling for hype.
