My brother and I have run into a bit of a hurdle when trying to upgrade his stereo system. Basically I gave him a higher end receiver to go with his "Theater in a box" style setup.
The problem is the Subwoofer uses standard speaker connectors (red, black) rather than the component subwoofer cable most powered subwoofers come with.
The receiver has no red/black connection for a subwoofer so how the heck do I get this thing connected? Or does he need to buy a better subwoofer? Is there any type of adapter that goes from the speaker wire to an RCA connection?
The receiver is a Marantz SR5000. The subwoofer is some generic Samsung model.
Where did you get the sub? So do the connectors look like this?
